Fair point, maybe "knee jerk" was the wrong way to put it. But, I still believe he should have the entire season to try and turn this around.

Hire him immediately and give him time to build relationships with the 2016 kids. You don't wait to the end of the season to fire Golden...look at UF and Michigan and their recruiting classes right now. They are gonna pay the price for not acting faster.

Simple: Everybody who thinks Coley would be a good candidate for the next HC would get to see their theory in practice, on an INTERIM basis.

Al Golden could win the CFB playoffs(lmao) and I'd still have a hard time accepting him.

You're the one whose shortsightedness is idiotic. You aren't firing Golden so you can save the season. You're firing him to save the program. The interim coach won't be signed to a five year contract so who gives a **** who comes in? And if whoever gets promoted sucks and Miami loses games? They'd still have that with Golden but they wouldn't have the message being sent to recruits and fans that they're no longer content with the state of the program.

It's not like it would be the third game of his first season. It would be after his 53rd game in charge. If Miami thinks that they are going to fire him at the end of the season, what is the benefit of allowing more humiliating losses by a coach you're planning on firing anyway? Cutting off a nose to spite a face? How about removing a malignant tumor? You ever hear someone get diagnosed with cancer and their doctor tells them, "The good news is it took so long for us to find it. You're really lucky we didn't find the tumor a couple weeks after it started growing. Yessir you dodged a bullet by finding that tumor after it had a couple years to grow.

You're advocating that your wife not treat her skin cancer because you think she looks hot really when she's tan.
 
Should have been fired for cause when he went AWOL begging for the Ped State job at the eleventh hour of the last recruiting cycle.

If it's looks bad by halftime , the new president needs to have Blake fire him and Dono at the half, then the new president needs to fire Blake for not firing him this year..Then put Coley on the Hot Seat for the second half as coach...Then we can see if Al was calling everything...

If only Penn St had hired him away. That was the best case scenario. Of course the AD who signed him to the onerous extension Shawn Eichorst could have choose him for Nebraska but passed. That was the second best scenario.

The sad news is that many of the speaking heads have talked about Al needing two more years. Even a couple players, Blades for one, said that. We assume it is only one more, but I fear the BOT and administration have already decided on two. There is no level of not caring about football that is beyond them. This is far beyond Al at this point. Our war is with the administration and BOT. Anyone buying season tickets, or any tickets is now a Quisling. Anyone attending a game is a Tory. Any support at all for the administration is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. You can claim that the players deserve support but want about us? At what point do the players owe us some support. Something like, "fan are important and the administration should do something to keep the fans happy".
 
Golden should be fired on the spot every day the sun comes up. He honestly should of been fired right after the bowl game against Louisville.
