If we lose any of the first 4 games should Richt be fired

Here's when I was done with the previous 3 coaches

1. I was done with Coker after he lost 2 games in a row in 2003. With 6 first round players. In retrorespect I should have been done with him after the Fiesta Bowl. He probably should have been fired as head coach after the Fiesta Bowl. Coker should have been allowed to return after 2002 if and only if he fired Kehoe as OL coach. And after 2003 Coker needed to be fired for sure. Even if he agreed to fire Kehoe he shouldn't have been allowed to come back as HC for 2004.

2.I was done with Shannon after the 51-13 loss to OU in 2007. I get that I'm an early bird, but I don't understand how everybody wasn't done with Shannon after he closed out the Orange Bowl stadium with a 48 point loss to a #23 team. And then at season's end he fired a guy who became an NFL DC while letting Patrick Nix remain on staff.

3. I was done with Golden after he opened his tenure with a loss to Maryland. Which would go 1-10 the rest of the way. Their win being over FCS Towson. Really I should have been done with Golden after he brought back Kehoe as OL coach.

And you say I retroactively change my opinions, here's what I'll also say

4. The banners against Butch in 1997 were 100% justified by how he had performed as coach up to that point. Probation or not. Those banners convinced him to fire Bill Miller and turn his tenure around.

So with that being said I want Richt fired if he loses any of his first 4 games. Losing these would be like Golden's loss to Maryland.

Football helmet you are a very smart person. I think he should be fired if the stadium is not ready on time. I guess I'm more of an early bird than yourself.

What are the odds of a coach who loses to FAU or FAMU having a successful tenure? Answer that question.

Think about how much better it would be if we had fired Shannon and Golden after 1 year, and Coker after 2-3 years.

Nick Saban lost to Louisiana Monroe his first year at Bama and look how that turned out...

Exactly. That's the point. Saban should have been fired after that Louisiana Montoe loss. It would have been a genius move. Think how much they would've saved in coaching raises and contract extensions.

You are missing one very important fact. All of those coaches you mention had never coached a Power 5 team before Miami. Richt has. He was good at it. He averaged 9.6 wins per season in the most difficult conference in college football.

Also, you seem to be dreaming if you think Richt's replacement will have a better resume. Who is next? Dan Mullen? Mario Cristobol? How many games will they get before you call for their heads?

That is true, but in my opinion, the resume is only relevant until you actually coach a game at Miami. If Nick Saban or Urban Meyer came to Coral Gables and proceeded to go 28-22 through 4 years, they'd deserve to be fired. Just like Shannon was fired for 28-22 and Golden should have been fired for 28-22. Their previous success at Bama, UF and OSU would be irrelevant to the question of if they should be fired at Miami.

And for the record the SEC East Division has been really crappy since about 2010. Granted that Richt had to play 2 SEC West teams a year.

Good to have you back, Helm, and, yes, if Richt doesn't start 4-0 he'll never win here. If he'll never win here, then he shouldn't be the HC.

Since you asked.

Fall of '79.
First 4 games we go 2-2, with a dismal 16-13 loss to Florida A&M.

Fire Schnelly and there's no Hurricanes football as we know it.
Happy?

You're being rash, if not pessimistic.
How about if the stadium is ready on time and Richt wins his first 10 games?
I would support the school chaining Mark Richt to the stadium infrastructure for the next 20 years if he
is this successful, ensuring he doesn't leave.
