Butch never went 0-9 against teams that finished top 25. Butch didn't have a losing record against teams that finished bowl eligible. You can make the case that flying a banner calling for Butch's dismissal was unwarranted but that means nothing in regards to GuRlden.

Funny the people opposed to flying a banner against GuRlden never made the same argument when it came to Shannon. Wonder what's different between the two? In three years, Shannon lost just 4 games by 18+ points. GuRlden has lost 5 out of his last 7 by 18+.

And GuRlden doesn't deserve a banner? GTFO.

All I know is every time y'all fly a **** banner, we end up with at garbage coach afterwards. The banner is 0-3 right now.

Banners don't hire coaches.

Butch left 3 years after that banner in '97 because UM wouldn't give him the contract he wanted after a season that resulted in a Sugar Bowl win.

The reason for 3 bad hires is because we have a bad president, not because of some weird correlation you draw to banners.

How UM has handled selecting the past few coaches has been scrutinized greatly on these boards.

From administration not showing enough devotion to the football program's success, to bad luck, to administration simply not being inept enough to choose the proper leadership for the team to succeed.

But your inference that flying banners is somehow correlated to the poor coaching hires is one of the dumbest statements I've read on this board, which says a lot.

It's just hysterical that a fan base known for not supporting "their" team is in support of flying banners calling for a coaches head.
I, and most rational folks across the nation, would understand if Miami fans were filling up the stadium and showing support and the coach was just not getting it done.
And don't give me that crap that support will come once he wins.. Stop fooling yourselves it won't. Sure FSU and VT will be sold out, but the rest of the home schedule will be a half filled stadium at best.

You're better than that. C'mon man. You know exactly what I'm saying. Those banners don't mean crap. It's a waste. Nothing positive has come from it at all. I think we all want Golden gone, but flying a banner to say so is just stupid. It was stupid for Butch, stupid for Randy, and is now stupid for Al.

You guys are just too **** adamant about showing your vitriol right now, it's both hysterical and sad at the same time. The chips will fall how they need to, and Al will hopefully get his sooner than later. We as a fan base need to focus on what we can control. The banner will harm everyone associated with the program, fans included.

I'm under the understanding that ya'll want to harm Al and staff, not the players, or each other. Vowing not to show up for games, and wishing losses are just plain unnecessary. I know it's not my money, and I know it's not my time to tell you guys what to do with, but as homer as it sounds, Prez, Duke, Dallas, Chick, so on and so forth need US right now as much as they need a new staff to lead them.

I'm no insider, but the seat that everyone thought was incapable of being anything other cool, seems to be getting warm. Unless he does something I'm positive he can't do (would LOVE to be proved wrong), like win out this season, ACCCG game and playoff/bowl game, he's done. Let the garbage on field product be his undoing, the powers that be, no matter how inept, are aware of how we feel about the staff.

Please let it play out boys. I'm hurting like ya'll. I can't take much more of this. Please for the sake of the players, find another way to display your justified disdain for Al. Please.

Once a banner is flown for Golden we can proudly be known as the fanbase that has flown banners for FOUR straight coaches. One day, I'm going to figure out why good coaches don't want to come here though.

fans want it bad enough that they are willing to fly banners, but not enough to come to games....
