Golden was hired because of what he did on the academic side at temple. They were on probation because graduation rates were god awful. The didn't hire a man with football prowess. They went out and identified someone who will run a clean program and have the players graduate. The admin wanted this man.... And that is why he is still here and will be for the forseable future.

He should of been fired after the RAB
HE MOST definitely should of been fired after losing to FSU in year 4
He without a doubt should of been fired after year 4 collapse and bowl lose to a pathetic SC team.

Any other school would let this man go by now, meanwhile....

We almost lose to a pathetic Nebraska team
Lose to a pathetic Cincy team
Lose to FSU 6 straight times

This man has had infinite lives here and it's bc the admin WANT him.

When Randy knew his days were numbered what did he do? He quit recruiting and didn't give 2 ***** about preparation.

We all think AGs days are numbered, but what is he doing? He's still recruiting and he's still coaching( he sucks at that). A man who is supposedly on the fire seat sure isn't acting like it. The man isn't on any hot seat.

Unless something catastrophic happens like losing the remaining games and not making a bowl AG will be back. I hoping he resigns, but I know he wants that money. I've been told dozens of times that he is well respected by the AD and Admin. Players are graduating and staying out of the news. I'm stating the obvious here, but it doesn't matter if make bowls or have a dominant program. According to the Admin we are currently playing competitive ball and that's all they want. Even if AG tanks and they fire him (won't happen)... The next guy will be mediocre as well. It's a win win for the admin. The keep AL... They keep getting the results they want. They fire AG and the fan base rally's and supports new coach for 3 years until he starts to suck. That cycle will continue.

Side note- take out the Admin, BOT, and Blake And there still is huge problem. That problem is Frenk. He does not give one iota about football. The president of North Texas has been open about hiring and good football coach. **** they fired the last guy 5 games in.... AT NORTH TEXAS! North fcuking Texas!

We have a BOT that could care less about football and use all the sports generated profits towards the health and medical.
We have a fundraiser puppet as major D1 athletic director
We just hired some shlub from Harvard to be our president.

The Frenk hire should tell you all you need to know... The guy is from Harvard. UM is still trying to be Harvard of the south.

Reminisce on the good ol memories of the OB and the many years of the CANES running roughshod over college football. We'll never see those days again. Wel never see an ACC championship. We'll see this program go D1aa before we have an admin that actually cares.

The toxicity around the program and the greater UM brand from the current environment is too great for this actually to be a rational position for the administration to take. They might "want mediocrity" (I doubt it as apathy and incompetence is far more likely than malice), but what they want more is not to have negative national press. The latter simply isn't happening now, and that's why he will be fired.
