If we beat VT.. do we...

Just Beat VT ... That is first and foremost. Don't care how, just win. The Rankings will take care of themselves if the team keeps winning. Focus is VT this weekend. That is IT. Forget ND. ND doesn't matter if we do not beat VT.
 
Beat VT, which is the OP's question, and UM moves past undefeated Wisconsin in the CFP. Wisconsin has not beaten anyone of note. Also, moves past TCU in the CFP. Should pass Oklahoma, but bias against the Canes will make this unlikely.

I prefer to think only about VT. But, since so many posts mention ND, I say UM is #3 in CFP if both VT and ND fall to the Canes.

I don't think they would favor us in another game outside of UVA and Pitt. They would pick our opponent to beat us in the ACCCG. They would then argue that a 1 loss UGA/ Bama/ OSU / Oklaoma should get the nod over us. If we were to get the nod, they'd pick our opponent to beat us. If we win that, they'd pick us to lose to whoever our opponent is in the NC.

Loooooooooong way to go. But, it's pretty apparent too many of these pundits don't want UM anywhere near the play offs.
 
Miami moves up if the teams above us lose.

If we win out for the season, you bet we get respect. This game is just for the Coastal. One step at a time.
