Just to add to this, we also have common opponents with BOTH teams.

Alabama - we beat (dominated) FSU. Alabama lost to FSU.

BYU - we beat Stanford 42-7. BYU beat them 27-3.

There is soooo much working in our favor that doesn't get mentioned.

The big problem for us is that the ACC has not gone to bat for us. They're the conference equivalent of "trust the process."

We need to be 10. Bama losing to UGA is not dropping them below us. Even at 10, we all know BYU is going to beat Tech and Tech won’t drop from top 5 to out of the playoff.
 
The committee has the ability to create their own path to plausibility here but we all know they won’t. Bama and BYU are playing in their conference championship games. If they were wise, they would move Miami ahead of both of those teams, as in that way they create the path of optics of “not being punished” for losing an conference championship but still not having a three loss team or an unproven CCG loser (BYU) taking an undeserved at large spot. It would be like pre-championship week insurance. They even have the talking points to make such a move…Miami’s resounding “ranked victory” (vs BYU and UCF) and a common opponent with Bama.

But if that move were made then they would HAVE to rank us ahead of Notre Dame, or the entire idea of scheduling meaningful OOC games comes crumbling down (less money in pockets).

But we all know that won’t happen. FML
 
THE S H I T NEVER CHANGES…OUTSIDE OF OUR OWN FAN BASE, WE ARE AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE MOST HATED PROGRAM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY…THEY LOVE TO DANGLE THAT TROPHY JUST OUT OF REACH AND LAUGH THEIR ASSES OFF WATCHING US TRYING TO TOUCH IT…..SO NOW I GOTTA GO TO HOMEDEPOT AND BUY ANOTHER F’N DOOR TO REPLACE THE ONE I JUST RIPPED OF THE HINGES 🤬
 
If bama is two spots ahead of us and loses to get to three losses how wouldn’t we jump them? It makes no sense. This is obv depending on byu losing.
