If we are ranked #12

Our best chance is
As we’ve seen they will adapt new precedent and discard old ones as they see fit. H2H used to matter but not anymore. Our only hope is them dropping BYU and Bama if both lose their CCG. That said I give it a .05% chance. Would need both teams to get blown out. I think both are capable of getting beat but nothing else has gone our way and I wouldn’t expect this to.
Right.

Our best chance is Alabama loses and the Commitee puts is in a 3 team bubble. Miami, ND, Alabama. That puts Miami in. We need to jump BYU.

So if Virginia loses they are still in? That doesn’t make sense. So if Duke loses they are still in? The committee can’t pick and chose when that argument applies.

No. They aren't "still in" because they aren't in as of right now. There will be one ACC team that gets in: the ACC champion.

SMU was 11-1 last season this time, so a loss in their championship was not very detrimental in their placement because the SEC and Big10 had multiple 2 loss teams ahead (3 to be exact, before the ACC championship was played). A 3 loss bama and a BYU team getting mopped in their conf championships should knock them down, and out. But if it does not, we should raise ****.

Also Ole **** should be out like FSU was when they loss Jordan Travis. Wonder if the CFP committee will view MISS as a "Different team" without Lane Kiffin....

Honestly I don't trust them to do the right thing. I don't.

I fully understand we are 99% cooked when it comes to CFP.

But I don't think we should be rooting for Bama to lose SEC Championship. It seems like Miami's better (but still long) shot would be for Bama to win, TTech to win, and then ND and Miami would be ranked side by side which would press the issue even more.

Just some awful luck the past couple weeks with teams in front of us but I'm content with the way Miami turned it around after SMU loss.

Given the past few weeks whatever we think helps us we should collectively root the other way.

Oklahoma beating Alabama and Duke beating Wake were two things I thought had no shot happening.

If UVA wins they’ll get in. If Duke wins I firmly believe they’ll go with the two 12-1 G5 teams to push doing away with the automatic qualifiers….which at this point I’d be fine with.

If we are not ranked ahead of notre dame Tuesday….. we need to hope for an Alabama WIN and byu loss. Bama would jump notre dame in that case and then Miami and notre dame would be right next to each other in the rankings which would force the committee to do something they are avoiding
This is not true

Uga struggles beating bama for whatever reason. What I hope Happens is notre dame drops to #10 spot so if bama wins they can’t jump a team they are behind ala Miami/notre dame
If Jam is out though for Bama that’s big. He didn’t look good going off the field.

I don’t understand why everyone would think that the sky is falling. if bama and byu loses in the conference title game. Bama would have three losses and byu two. Why wouldn’t Miami jump both if Miami is still ahead of Vandy and Texas?
We needed 2 out of about 20 possible things happen the last two weeks and none occured and now we need 2/2 and for the comitte to then punish Bama. Its bleak.

Technically, they did punish the P4 conference losers last year, but not enough to knock them out of the playoffs.

Texas, SMU, and Penn State all lost, but were ranked in the top 5 before their conference championship games. They all fell a few spots. Iowa State lost to Arizona State in the Big 12, but they weren't in the top 12. Neither was Arizona State before the game, so that in catapulted them into the guaranteed spot

This year, Bama and BYU are currently #10 and #11. Would losing their conference championship games drop them 2-3 spots? Or, will the committee not touch them? They moved all the losers from last year's games a few spots. Will be interesting
