AP doesn't reflect what the CFP committee is thinking necessarily...but if you can read between the lines and see that we jumped Utah, ND stayed at 9 after a 70-7 win we can be in position to force committee to use H2H after a ranked Pitt win Saturday on the road. I think we pass their "eye test" then.

2. Roll top 25 Pitt on the road and jump BYU. Add another top 25 W to the résumé
3. Alabama, Oklahoma, or (less likely) ND lose

IMO:
1. Duke loses. My only concern is Wake’s offense. Duke has made everyone look better than they are. I think Wake wins fairly easily because manny will manny
2. SMU isn’t losing to Cal.
3. Virginia loses to VT. That’s a monkey on their back and the pressure will fold them. VT’s offense found a rhythm against us and Pop Watson in at QB will rally them. He’s a spark plug

We play SMU in Charlotte to revenge that loss.

Why did we have to kill drones and their running back.

1) his comments were so horrific and contradictory that even people that dont like miami are all over them

2) it's not an SEC team we're going against, and


3) what they are trying to do is actually egregious to the sport -- think about all the lost money in cancelation of OOC games going forward if we dont get in over the team we beat OOC

I think it would be a travesty if we wouldn't get in. Miami is better than half the teams that are "in" right now. Lets see. I'm just so used to getting jobbed that I have no faith in the committee. That SMU loss killed us. If the committee watched that game they KNOW we actually won it. That was one of the worst officiated I've ever seen. You hate to use that as an excuse but it's the truth. Even with everything we'd been through in that game, that 4th down late hit call was garbage. That game was over

SMU I agree. Complete horse**** officials cost us the win despite the fact we played poorly. The fumble recovery that was overturned. Ruled a sack fumble on the field. I didn’t see anything anywhere indicating there was enough evidence to overturn it and it sure as **** looked like a fumble to me. That took at least 3 points from us and a ton of momentum.

The 4th and 11 or whatever where our dude accidentally ran into a player because he, and several SMU players did not hear the whistle so they kept playing. We did not hit him hard and tried to let up and keep him from falling. What’s the penalty called, “unnecessary roughness”? What’s rough about trying to hold your opponent up? It gives SMU a 1st down and puts them in FG range during a crucial moment in the game.

And last but not least, the dual flags on our last drive in regulation. One on them for DPI which couldn’t have been more obvious. Another for holding on us which wasn’t even a hold. Refs pickup the DPI flag and leave ours. Mind boggling. DPI on them ends the game. If you’re going to say we held then at least offset the penalties and make us replay the down. BUT NO! Holding on us, 10 yards back, completely ***** us and forces a punt. I’ve never believed in rigging games or anything crazy like that but my God, this is compelling evidence for those who do.

Bad calls are part of the game. It’s annoying. This isn’t your typical annoying bad call or no call. These were calls that decided the game and we have every right to be livid. I pray for the unlikely scenario we play SMU in the ACCCG and beat them into submission but that’s unlikely to happen

Yes, we’ve seen all of the scenarios….. I was skeptical about being able to get into the CFP as an at large. I would have bet big that the committee was going to slide us. My opinion, up to Tuesday’s rankings , was that we would only get in as the ACC champion and getting into the acc championship game would be almost a miracle based on what needs to happen. Based on our rankings from Tuesday, I was wrong. Anything else??

That’s a great question. I could swear that I read somewhere where the committee said they wouldn’t penalize teams for losing conference championships but I’m not 100% on that. Maybe someone can elaborate
