If Vandy jumps us this week in the CFP poll

Think they need to get rid of rankings in general. Look at early year rankings. All are BS except OSU.

Have the committee rank and can judge good wins or losses based on how teams perform end of season.

You'll know the committee will ***** us in the end. I still think the only way we get in is to back into the ACC championship game and win. Bring out your babalao statues and candles because the only way that happens is if UVA loses to VT...... Not looking good.
There are other scenarios besides UVA losing to Tech

AP doesn't reflect what the CFP committee is thinking necessarily...but if you can read between the lines and see that we jumped Utah, ND stayed at 9 after a 70-7 win we can be in position to force committee to use H2H after a ranked Pitt win Saturday on the road. I think we pass their "eye test" then.

Yes, there are 4 scenarios but UVA losing to Tech scenario gives us the best probability. the scenario is SMU wins and both UVA and Duke lose. That scenario is at 40%. the next best scenario is at 20%.

That’s not what you said. You said the only way that happens (ie Miami making the ACCCG) is UVA losing to Virginia Tech. And my response is: that’s wrong. Now you’re moving the goalposts and talking about %

Pretty sure Tenn beats Vandy not worried there

I feel good jumping Utah, especially if they struggle vs Kansas and we beat Pitt same weekend

I think BYU loses to Texas Tech in conference championship and Alabama loses to Auburn or Ole Miss to Miss State or SMU to Cal or UVA to Va Tech

Lots of movement incoming
Love the optimism.

Has to fall for us at some point since none of it happened besides Pitt winning the last 2 weeks

1. Jump Utah for their ****** performance last night.
2. Roll top 25 Pitt on the road and jump BYU. Add another top 25 W to the résumé
3. Alabama, Oklahoma, or (less likely) ND lose
4. Ultimate conspiracy - ole Miss loses the egg bowl Friday (lack of focus due to everything going on and because Friday games always do this), Lane leaves = enough to fall out of top 12 in committee eyes

= you’re in

Alternatively
Apply number 2 above and 2/3 of Duke, UVA, and SMU lose next week and we get in via ACC auto bid.

IMO:
1. Duke loses. My only concern is Wake’s offense. Duke has made everyone look better than they are. I think Wake wins fairly easily because manny will manny
2. SMU isn’t losing to Cal.
3. Virginia loses to VT. That’s a monkey on their back and the pressure will fold them. VT’s offense found a rhythm against us and Pop Watson in at QB will rally them. He’s a spark plug

We play SMU in Charlotte to revenge that loss.

Miami should be 12th this week. With BYU by slightest of margins above them at 11. If ND stays at 9 then we got H2H debate within 3 spots…. But either way I truly believe if BYU loses CCG and it’s unconvincing, Miami will jump them in final ranking. That puts UM around 11, means we need one of the following to lose next week (ND, USC, OU, BAMA) and we’re in imo

This week's CFP should be interesting. We moved up in both AP and Coaches poll (over Utah), so we should move up to 12 in CFP.

Also, USC's loss takes a bit of shine off Notre Dame's "best win."

If Bama beats Auburn and plays in SEC Championship game and gets blown by A&M then does an 11th ranked Miami take over the #10 spot from a 3 loss Bama?

We gotta hope Robbie Ashford plays well against Duke. Good lord is college football weird

Something else important in those tie-breakers is NCST beating UNC and Syracuse beating BC. Need at least one of them to force the ratings tie-breaker in a few scenarios. Both losing and we lose out on the win % tie breaker.

We better jump Utah this week. I swear to god...

I think it would be a travesty if we wouldn't get in. Miami is better than half the teams that are "in" right now. Lets see. I'm just so used to getting jobbed that I have no faith in the committee. That SMU loss killed us. If the committee watched that game they KNOW we actually won it. That was one of the worst officiated I've ever seen. You hate to use that as an excuse but it's the truth. Even with everything we'd been through in that game, that 4th down late hit call was garbage. That game was over
We should have been up 21-0 at halftime!
Instead it was 7-7
Meathead wanted
To condense the game for whatever reason
And then one or two ****** calls determine the outcome
Meathead needs to evolve
