If This Doesn't Convince ND to Join...

ND has to be one of the worst 11-1 teams I’ve seen in awhile. They are not good. Would
Get absolutely destroyed by anyone in the playoffs.

I know the old timers despise ND, but I despise UGA more. We compete with UGA far more often for recruits. I would rather UGA, and their crappy resume get the boot out of the playoffs.

Okie Stare blew that cash though, had they won they make have booted UGA out.

Yeah, hating ND is an old-timey thing, but it comes it of watching those games back in the 80s and watching them get all the calls and all the lucky bounces. The thing with UGA is that we've never had a game against them that I can remember, and certainly not one that mattered. And we don't really compete with them in recruiting. The kids interested in us and UGA are generally interested in UGA and use us to make themselves more attractive. I think those Miami kids who talk about going to Miami but end up at an SEC school wanted to go there the whole time. They use a Miami offer as a way to get noticed.

The entire playoff is ruining everything. It shouldn’t expand to 8. It should be abandoned. The bowl system lead to great arguments and every game mattered. College football is tradition, rivalries, and bowls. Don’t turn it into a bastardized version of the NFL.
 
As I described in another thread, ND AD Swarbrick should have canned Kelly last December, made the huge offer to Urban before or concurrent with the Jags offer (Urban announced as Jags Coach in January). At worst, he is looking fo another HC after Kelly continued to underperform. At best, he has a top HC and $$$ signs in his eyes as he approaches NBC for the TV rights deal.

Now, he has a promising, but inexperienced HC, he is out of the playoffs for scheduling a dangerous G5, and NBC will play hardball on the contract knowing Swarbrick is in a position of weakness.

I'm an old fan...Sucks to be ND!
