If This Doesn't Convince ND to Join...

I suspect to try and convince them to join, eventually. If the playoffs do not expand any time soon and the ACC, Big 10, and Pac 12 align, they are in a difficult situation.
No doubt you’re right, but that’s a stupid plan. They’ve been fine this long, they won’t let the acc strong arm them.

I don't know what will. They lose 1 game this year and will NOT be a playoff team because they don't play in a conference. If they were in the ACC and played for the title tonight against WF or Pitt, they would have at least had a chance by saying they were a conference champ and ND. However, they missed out on the one extra game against a quality opponent and they are shut out.

I hope the ACC realizes this fact and votes against the current playoff proposal.
Wait, why are you so sure they won’t make the playoff? I can definitely see the playoff committee deciding that ND gets a spot over Cincinnati. I’m seeing Bama, UGA, Michigan, ND (in that order) as a very real possibility. SEC gets too much love, anybody not from a major conference (except ND) gets none.

Ummm, you know Cincinnati beat ND at ND, right?

Nope. That makes it harder, but stranger things have happened. “We just feel like ND was playing at a higher level at the end of the season” or some nonsense. It’s all subjective. While they may need to justify their picks, I think they can do whatever they want.

They are undefeated and won convincingly over the domers at ND. ZERO chance ND takes their spot.

Cincinnati beat ND, in ND and Cincinnati is undefeated. If they were to put ND in instead of Cincinnati, you might as well blow the whole thing up because results on the field don't matter.

ND needs to get on board and join the ACC, and I want them to join so the ACC can restructure that ACC TV deal. It would also be fun to give them beatdowns more often.

It should have always been 8, power 5 conference champ gets auto bid then 3 at large selected by the committee. You can't marginalize any of the conferences unless you want them to dissolve or merge down to four 16 team conferences with 4 auto bids and 4 at large.

No way Cincinnati beat Notre Dame head to head.. came in championship weekend as the 4th best team and soundly beat a top 20 opponent.. Norte Dame SOS isn't that impressive either.. Committee would not be able to explain Cinci being left out for ND

No sympathy here, man…. They’ve been given more consideration than they’re due for the better part of a century. Maybe if this happens 10 years in a row they’ll change their minds, they still have they’re own tv deal with NBC, right? I’m sure they’re doing just fine. I can’t stand the SEC, but ND is a whole other level, and I’m Catholic.
