If there’s no Football

The logistics of no NFL or CFB in 2020 have yet to be discussed:

NFL:
1) Do players contract freeze for the lost year?
2) Is the 2021 draft done in the same order as in 2020?
3) Will there be an NFL draft in 2021?
4) Will there be a temporary expansion of roster sizes?

NCAA
1) For Miami, do King, Roche, and Rousseau stay?
2) What schools give up football?
3) Will eligibility be frozen?
4) Will roster sizes be increased in 2021?
5) At the QB level, how does a frozen eligibility affect recruitment of HS players? You may have players decommitting.

And finally the unasked question...what happens if the 2021 season is cancelled as well? Does CFB survive in any form? Do college athletics survive in any form? Does the NFL collapse?

Yes. You could very well have .....

  • A 20-25% reduction in the number of teams across the board, (in all sports)
  • For those schools that maintain football, a reduction in the number of games played,
  • Merger and thinning of conferences
  • No athletic scholarships
  • Coaches going back to making $75,000 per year

Miami Dade is running out of ICU beds. Florida has more Covid cases than all of Europe. Miami right now is ground zero in the crisis. No way we’ll play.

We (TrumpAmerica) did this to ourselves. If everyone wore masks from the beginning, and wore them consistently every time they went out, etc. we’d have a college football season. Not only did we not wear masks, we went about our lives as if everything was completely normal- going to bars in large groups, parties, beaches, etc. Americans only think about themselves.
ok

Y’all must didn’t see Trump reroute the virus statistics through his office. Curve flattened in 3 2 1... Ignorance is bliss. Let’s get this show on the road.

I sure hope you are right. But .... as of now, not trending that way. And, next Spring won't likely be any different from this Fall; so, if they do play, it should be Fall.

In the end, it'll likely be the college players who derail the plans of the "adults" who risk nothing from their suites.

It is partially too complicated because of the NFL refusing to push the combine or draft back. Goodell doing whatever he can to inevitably choose the wrong path forward as usual.

That's all he has to do, and we will have a season. Just adjust the off season (shorter) schedule the following year. My bet is on greed. No way these people leave BILLIONS on the table for what some of them may perceive as a fake virus. Not even for year will they do this, not with FB they won't.

Anyone surprised by today’s report of players testing positive. This is going to happen. Let’s see how good our protocols are going to be.

Spoke to someone last night and basically it’s looking pretty bad right now that we won’t get a season in. With that being said what would miss the most if the season is canceled?
For me:
- Not being able to see 2 possible 1st rd draft picks in Roche and GR15
- not seeing arguably the most explosive qb we’ve had at the U in King.
- how good our o line might be
- a 21century high octane offense.
And to go along with everything you said, Lashlee might have the best back in his quick pace OF. The Roster Knighton. Once this kid gets going in this OF he’s going to be a nightmare for DC to deal with as he’s also paired with what could be the most exciting QB in college. Scary.

Life as we know it has changed, sport and play may just be a thing of the past, until real priorities get in order!

U know I actually agree w/ u. I was just having a conversation w/ my buddy, and I said what we once considered normalcy might not be that way, again. However, we might have thought the same thing back in 1914 during WWI or 1918 during the Spanish Flu Epidemic. Ebola was a fear, along w the swine and bird flus.

I think the difference today v. yesterday is just the sensationalization from Social Media & News Outlets via social media. Before, u had to read about panic via news papers or turning on your radio or TV; now it’s information overload. Some of the info has been contradicted, while others grossly exaggerated. The fact is, Covid-19 is real, it has detrimental effects....but how u contract it seems to be similar to a common cold and flu v. inanimate objects.

Regardless, the damage has already been done, psychologically, which is far more damaging than physically. Therefore, we are totally screwed socially, which in turn will ***** us financially. Furthermore, b/c misinformation was given that this virus wasn’t a serious threat, the passing & mutations of it increased exponentially, as well.

In both cases, we’ve been screwed globally.

How about a 128 team tournament in the spring, seeded based on preseason rankings from top to bottom? At worst a 7 game season for the national champions.

who the **** knows, first WHO, and Fauci, nothing to see here move on, travel band bad, travel band good, models good, models bad, we are lock down for two weeks to opened up hospital rooms, now we are in fetal positions for two months, and hospitals going broke, and laying and furloughing thousands, flatten the curve important, flatten the curve not important , mask good, mask bad, protest good, churches, restaurants ,beaches bad, outside good, inside bad, but we had everybody locked up : dude this is a circus, did he died with covid or because of covid, nobody knows nothing. As mentioned earlier, we had covid before, and life went on:
Only in America we’re all confused. Other Countries got a good handle on it. I guess we have all fools living in this country because people elsewhere are going about their normal business

No athletic schollys would REALLY kill off the expensive, private schools playing ball (like UM).

Other countries got a good "handle" on their people. Those countries can "handle" my balls. I'm a free man. America is different. Freedom too scary for you? GFY.
