If the committee doesn't care about losses, why should we?

If teams that shi$ the bed with 2 losses are still somehow in contention, what is the point of risking our best players at Pitt. What is the point of trying to go undefeated? No matter what happens, we are going to play Clemson for the ACC title. since the committee only cares about quality wins, should we rest our best players against Pitt. Beating Pitt guarantees us nothing if we lose to Clemson. Losing to Pitt but beating Clemson otoh would give us the only thing the committee cares about - quality wins.

This is how retarded the committees logic is. This is what happens when you discount losses and only care about quality wins.

Seriously, the committees idiotic way of evaluating teams means that Miami has no chance to make the playoffs if it beats Pitt but loses to clemson. However , losing to a bad team like Pitt but then beating Clemson would actually give us a FAR better chance to make the playoffs. This is what happens when you discount losses. Smdh

The committee does care about losses...to teams in the way of their perfect scenario. The committee is waiting for us to lose like that weird guy in the corner of the strip club waiting for a dancer to ask him if he wants a dance to blow his load. I have yet to hear 1 scenario about "if Miami beats Clemson. They are waiting for us and Wisconsin to stop making their jobs hard.

You’re right, in principle.

This is Vilma’s point about why Miami should have been ranked above Clemson.

This game really is meaningless, based on the committees rankings for 1-loss Clemson, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame ... And the fact that Ohio State and Auburn ar still in the discussion, with 2 losses.

I’d still like to be undefeated, and that’s in reach. But your point is accurate ... The committee doesn’t focus enough on losses.

Each post you make is worse than the last.

Lol explain ohio state still being in contention, dumbass. These jokers got blown out twice, yet somehow their quality wins can earn them a spot in the playoffs.

So why shouldn't we use this moronic logic to benefit our team? Risk a loss to Pitt in exchange for improving our chances to win against Clemson. Beating Pitt guarantees nothing. Losing to Clemson guarantees we miss the playoffs.

Which is crazy! Especially, if the Clemson loss is close. I mean, they’re giving Auburn credit for the close loss, why not Miami?

In the committee's defense they have Norte Dame and Auburn ahead of Ohio St.

This is not complicated.

Ohio State remains in contention because they can still win their conference championship by winning out and beating a higher-ranked undefeated team. Auburn, the same. Two-loss USC has no chance because beating lower-ranked Stanford for the PAC12 title does not help them.

As much as I dislike OSU, and ambivalent towards Auburn, I believe a conference winner should have significant weight in the playoff selection process. Without a conference championship factor you can easily end up with a conference loser making the CFB, an SEC slurpers dream.

Losses have always and always will count against The U. In 2000, FSU loss against us didn’t count but our loss to Washington did. Price of being Canes.

Because "we" aren't the selection committee.

The OP's point is valid and we would all agree if we were Wisconsin. The other side is who cares at this point. At the End the question will be conference champions with two losses (Auburn, OSU) verses one loss teams that lose their championship game (Miami, Bama, Wisconsin). No way a two loss non conference champion (Clemson, Georgia) gets in. They will go with the conference champions. I think Miami with one loss and Bama with one loss is where the discussion would be for the fourth spot.

You are correct. They don't want us with one loss because the stigma still exists that we are renegades and thug U.
