Then how in the **** do they feel about Cristobal taking the job in the 2013 at Miami and leaving a month later for bama....

Apparently there are some on the Bot that love Butch and some that don't care for him.

It makes it impossible to really tell where we are as far as this corching search goes.

Wait and see mode but we need to act fast, we got what we wanted with golden gone so we must keep this recruiting class intact because we have a lot of potential difference makers in it. Hire Butch Davis and build an elite staff and get on the recruiting trail before uf, Fsu, auburn continue to negatively recruit us

even if u dont like him if u love miami u interview him n give him the job, people will love them for it

just hire fkin butch already, dis hire is critical. butch can groom the coach in waiiting like jimbo n da machine keeps rolling

If Louisville can forgive Petrino we can bring back Butch.

Probably not the best example. I think Petrino is 12-8 since being back ...

Proof that bringing back a previously successful coach doesn't guarantee having success, again.

Interesting point.

Honestly, not that I'm a big Mario fan, but his fleeing Golden and his self-improvement camp of a program was always a major warning sign for me. Mario must've not enjoyed all the pillars and codes.

Actually it a great example of someone leaving on bad terms and being welcomed back. I was talking about that not his football performance.

But lets wait and see what Petrino does. He has never failed at a college coaching job, lets see where Louisville is at in 2 years.

Your proof is BULLSCHITT.

Trying to connect potatoes and pineapples. Petrino is no Butch.

Mario didn't wrestle with Miami back and forth for 3 months like Butch did then bail when they thought they had a done deal. On the other hand, some will argue that what Mario did was worse.

The idea of hiring Mario ****** Cristobal as our head coach is absolutely ridiculous. All his past shady **** aside, if he ever did succeed, he wouldn't turn down a bigger check the second it hit his doorstep. He dipped out on HIS ALMA MATER a MONTH after signing a deal to run to Tuscaloosa for a paycheck! Zero allegiance. No thanks.

I know you are all about Butch, and take every chance to defend him.

But I wasn't the guy making the parallel between Butch and Petrino. And my post actually says it wasn't the best example to use.

I never thought of it that way... in hindsight bolting for Alabama is probably the best evidence of his better judgment out there. Certainly more impressive than his coaching credentials.

Did you see their roster after teddy left and the year Parker left?

Interesting ...

So, was Charlie Strong a great recruiter who would kill it at Miami, or was he a poor recruiter who left Petrino no talent?

I can't keep up with all the excuses folks keep throwing around to validate their positions ...

And so does beating Petrino this season make Tom Herman a good coach, or does it not matter, because Petrino inherited a bad roster?

Nah, it's not a good example if you're implying bringing Butch back is the best idea.

John L. Smith left a talented team for Petrino, and he coached them up.

I keep reading Charlie Strong was an ace recruiter at Louisville, and built a Miami team. So, why is Petrino struggling with all that talent?
