We gonna have to agree to disagree on this one..Coker’s tenure was worse than this an didnt end like this..Shannon’ same..golden same..this **** was abrupt..when things happen this quick it’s one mans decision. Or why would miami allow Richt to pick Banda and Patke as DCs. I dont believe James would publicly tweet what he tweeted soon after the game either. I’m not saying it all keyboard warriors but def was a major part. Especially the **** that was going on from twitter. I believe this was richts decision to cut the cord mainly. I don’t think he was asked to step down
 
....or you can refer to the problem people have spelled out for weeks,....which is his SON was clearly in the way,...front and center.

Blake told him you cant continue being in charge of this offense all by yourself and you'll have to go the "Georgia" route, which is hire someone else to be in charge of the offense.

But an elite OC means authority over the QBs and Offense, which meant his son was in the cross heirs. No way around it.

He'd possibly rather quit than to do what was necessary. This wasn't some new all-of-a-sudden theory. Anyone that interviews his son for jobs from now on, Richt will step in and say the problems were all his doing and his son did a great job. As I said right after the bowl,..he wants a career for his son,...nothing else.

Soooo...the professional protection of his son vs. internet tough guys scaring him away? Lol,...this isin't a hard one.

Welcome to the Miami "Fanbase". It's amazing how unrealistic and ignorant this group is. Miami is a top 15 job, but it isn't a job a guy like Urban Meyer would even want. Why would he? No one leaves Ohio State for Miami. No one. Period. Miami is a job for a young go getter, a guy like Matt Campbell to come and do his thing and then leave for either the NFL or a large factory gig. That's how this works.

I'm just curious, where do you think athletic department funding comes from? Miami isn't going to go out and spend money that either isn't there, or they don't believe can be replenished. If they thought differently, they wouldn't have had to crowdfund the IPF project. They wouldn't have waited to start the project that they wanted since 2010. If a booster is willing to step up and provide the financing, then it's a different story. If not, Miami is going to work within the confines of a well defined budget.
 
IF you want to win and become a dynasty again, then without a doubt no one else can get it done more quickly or with more certainty than Urban.

Nobody is saying Miami can’t get a top coach, just not a top 2-3 salary coach like Meyer. Miami ain’t throwing 10 million at anybody.
 
Urb is going the Bo Schembecler route. First step is assistant AD at taint. When Gene Smith fuqs up again- he's AD.
