I yearn for the days we have Alabama's problems...
Looks like my attempt at sarcasm was an epic fail! When Rosier had a clean pocket, he still overthrew receivers. Having a great O-line is not going to fix inaccuracy issues.
No he wouldn't, he'd have a better though..****, even Rosey would be better behind all those 5* OL @ baga.
everyone knew Tua was a beast, u saw that army game? kid was the goods and they finally have a qb and won without one for years whos beating them with one? maybe clemsonhaving tua helps but thats why saban is saban. its his system. that man had the balls to throw a true freshman in that
title game and it worked. Urban meyer has won with young guys too. that is why when you think of bama you think of
saban. when you think of OSU you think of Urban. just guys that are alpas
They would win no doubt but they would run run run cause they can****, even Rosey would be better behind all those 5* OL @ baga.
Agree with you. But Hurts wasn't a star caliber QB. He just happened to be good at some things. People hyped him up because of his W/L record and was saying it's crazy you could sit a QB that was 26-2. Not taking into account that Bama's success is mostly predicated on having the best defense in the country.
That was the point I was trying to make and failed miserably. Hurts was 26-2 as an average QB due to the talent around him and a great defense. Tua gives sabags many more options. They would win no doubt but they would run run run cause they can
....can bench a star quarterback like Jalen Hurts who lead them to a couple championship games; why is it so hard for Richt to bench Rosier? He hasn't done anything of similar value. Rosier was a fluke last year. Lets be honest.
All these studs need a stud throwing to them. Rosier is no stud. I'll take Kosi's length, arm and legs over Rosier any day. The mental part will come with experience.
Make the call Richt.
The Saban/Tua situation was a entirely different set of circumstances:
Tua was one of the top HS QBs in the country, was an EE at Bama, and 'student of the game'.
Tua was given playing time in many of Bama's blowouts over cupcake opponents.
Bama's defense dominated the second half. UGA made one big-play TD and nothing else until a FG in OT. Kirby Smart 'corched' the game.
Saban believed he was going to lose the NC game with Hurts. He felt he was going to lose otherwise. There was no tomorrow, just next season.
Interestingly, Saban did not bench Hurts during Bama's late season loss at Auburn. Why not?
Perry/Weldon are not in the same league as Tua.
Perry/Weldon had no opportunity for garbage time last season. No Miami games were over by halftime, mid-3rd quarter. Except maybe B-C.
Perry/Weldon do not have a similar supporting cast. Bama is far superior than almost everyone they played.
Perry apparently is not a student of the game. Some of his lack of preparedness is on him.
That said, I agree its time for Richt to prepare someone for the future. Find out what the three young guns can do with live ammo. I'd accept an 8-4 record if I could see a high ceiling in one or more of the three. At this point 8-4 might be the record with Roiser. I have no confidence in Roiser.
