If Richt was still coaching....

The character is ******* hilarious tho
It’s a good start. He’s kinda got to decide what he is, and go with it. Is he an angry ****** accountant? A generic angry guy on the verge of a breakdown? An angry yet good natured richt supporter whose prone to profane outbursts?

It feels like He’s still kinda working the schtick out.

People crucify him for being incompetent, which he was while a coach at UM. We have no idea what the man is like personally, and we don’t care.

@RVACane

Regrettably, from day one, many (the HERD) on this message board attacked Coach Richt for his religious beliefs. They derisively referred to him as, "Pastor Richt." Is that not attacking the man personally?

But, it didn't stop there, they personally attacked his wife and son. A HERD member promoted doing everything possible to destroy Coach Jonathan Richt because this would force his father to resign.

If someone publicly stated they were going to try and ruin your son, daughter or any family member as a way to force you to do as they want, no matter who your family member was employed by, would you consider that to be personal? I know I would!

They accused CMR of stealing money from the University of Miami.
This after he stroked a check for one million dollars to help ensure the indoor practice facility became a reality. Had he not championed the indoor practice facility where do you think the program would be today as it relates to future recruiting and preparing our teams for upcoming opponents?

HERD members in a concerted effort attempted to besmirch his legacy as a coach by constantly skewing his past accomplishments to the negative. Here again, I would sure as **** consider that to be personal.

In reality, a high percentage of the comments from the HERD was personal and painted the man as a low life.

Yet, in the end, despite all the hate and lies directed at Coach Richt by the HERD the man elected to walk away from countless millions and other significant benefits because he believed it was in the best interest of the University of Miami and the future of the football program. That was a personal decision due to his love of the "U."

By the way, the HERD is just waiting for the first Canes loss or two during next season, or for that matter, simply a poorly played game, and then this 15 year-long hate fest will get kicked back into high gear again with Manny Diaz being the new target to be destroyed.

I have a great deal of respect for MR, he helped my family out once in a time of need. Did it without even hesitating. I know many on this board like to crucify him because they have been so successful in their own lives, but MR is a good man, a good father, a good husband, a good lover, a good neighbor, from everything I know about the man.
Is this connecticut?

Richt was a coach at a P5 university. Richt JR was a coach at a P5 university. They are fair game to criticize, especially when they are incompetent... as they were while here.

Youare taking the term “stealing” literally, when you know good and well that’s now how it was meant.. Obviously stealing in this sense refers to someone being paid for a job that they are not doing well enough to deserve that pay.

U know this. Why am I explaining it? I need sleep.

Bullshyt! You HERD members would never have the balls to be attacking a Muslim for his religious beliefs if he coached at a P5 school or any other job. It was cowardly, destructive to the "U", especially recruiting.

The Richt stealing from the "U" comments came directly from the HERD because they claim by paying his son and apparently his wife for their contributions to the football program qualifies as theft. Please don't try to defend the indefensible.

If you are going to indirectly or directly defend the damage the HERD has done to the UM football program over the past 15-years due to their lies and hate, yet continue to bash Mark Richt makes you a certified hypocrite in good standing.

Most importantly, why the Fvck is anyone attacking the Richt family ABOUT ANYTHING at this point, especially after the magnanimous gesture he made when resigning and walking away from millions that he knew would be directed to the football program?

You dumb Fvckers should be celebrating the man and his family.

PS: Without Mark Rich there would be NO INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY, thus the Canes would be miles behind any other major college football program. That accomplishment alone is reason enough to erect a statue of Mark Richt next to the IPF.

Pastor richt wasn’t meant derisively and u know it. The man IS A PASTOR.

He literally is pastor richt.

STOP IT! JUST F'ING STOP IT!

Of course the Pastor designation was a cheap shot at the man's faith as clueless HERD members must be hating or they will shrivel up and die. Hate is their oxygen.

Defending their destructive actions only insures they will start up on Diaz while next season's first kick-off is still flying in the air.

Break from the HERD and that will mean one less hater as the program rebuilds, which will mean there are going to be rough patches and the worst thing that can happen is adding a 16th straight year of the HERD burning the program to the ground, thus further stymieing recruiting.

So just btw... all the things I railed against richt for, and u dismissed as part of the herditis infection u claim I have.... those are the very same things manny addressed in pressers and interviews since his hire.

I know it makes u uncomfortable to criticize a coach.... the problem is that our coaches have deserved it.

Some of the things you've criticized were, in my view, fair and accurate.

Where I passionately disagree is where thread after thread the HERD tears down every facet of the program, which has had a long-lasting detrimental impact relating to the Canes football results.

Where thread after thread the HERD tries to top one another with their derogatory comments, lies, half-truths and phony rumors. Simply put...their pure ignorant hate.

Where thread after thread the HERD 'personally' attacks coaches, players, administrators and at times, their families and faith.

I can promise you this, there is no one more disgusted by some of the things that took place on the field over the approximately last 15 years, and the final results of games that we should have never lost.

What I will never subscribe to is inventing reasons and stories to besmirch the program and all those involved. And sadly, this same routine is just waiting to be unleashed on the Diaz era. It is not a matter of if, only when!

In recent days 'some' HERD members have surprisingly, yet begrudgingly, praised Coach Diaz and company due to the use of social media to communicate with recruits (they also used this as an opportunity to once again belittle Coach Richt).

Yet, the same suspects howl in wild-eyed disagreement whenever I point out that 'THEIR', around the clock, hate everything, UM football activities on social media has done a staggering amount of damage to Canes recruiting.

Coach Diaz must find a way to marginalize the HERD if he is ever to find consistent success as UM's head football coach. If he doesn't, the banner planes will soon be flying, to which I say, never forget that the HERD proudly, arrogantly and monumentally stupidly flew banners demanding Bucth Davis be fired.

Why do you always capitalize "herd"?

Realistically how many Miami players would be the portal right now. I know we would not get a single player from the portal like big dong Diaz but how many would we lose? College football is not ready for what the U is putting together and man I can’t wait to see this in action. It’s great to be a Miami Hurricanes again!!!! Go Canes

I think Kennedy, Asa Martin and Bubba Bolden were all recruited by Richt staff. Didn't Jordan confirm Bolden was coming to Miami before the bowl game? Jeff Thomas, Osborn and Martell are all Manny. Anyways much respect for Richt on stepping down and not dragging this on for another 2 years.

Yea I definitely hear ya.... the negativity became pervasive, and was overboard in a lotta ways. And I agree that personal attacks are unnecessary, and some were def over the line. I’m not sure what half truths and lies were being spread.... but I don’t doubt they were.

I do disagree with you on one point.. I just can’t buy that recruits give one iota what Earnest T. Bass and 1mg of Epi have to say about much of anything. These kids are of a different generation than we are. The internet troll has always been a thing in their world. They barely remember a world without Facebook and Twitter. They know that the internet is a cesspool of weirdos, and they know they would never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy than that same internet. Why on earth would they even for a second take to heart anything we say? Especially when all they need to know is clearly visible for all to see on saturdays.

I hope you are right. But, nonsense (bullshyt) that starts on various political and business message boards has a way of taking on a life of its own and goes from lie/rumor to fact very quickly.

Recently on the CIS board someone floated the lie/rumor that Frank Ponce was going to be appointed the Canes new Offensive coordinator and all **** broke loose. If memory serves me correctly it went from hating Ponce to attacking Diaz. I may have this story out of sequence, but my point is; if a goodly amount of people who possibly swim in the same waters as recruits bought into that story despite their in-depth internet experiences I can't help but wonder about how an 18 year-old kid weeds through that type of information and concludes what is true, and what is false.
