If Richt gets canned...

Now I know this is a pipe dream and all.. but what if by some miracle or some **** Flake n the BOT grow a pair buddy gets fired? Who do we go after?? Who could come in and save our beloved program from extinction?
J
Unfortunately...if and when that happens we will fvck it up.
There will be the list we should go after. That list will have scope, vision and imagination.
Then there will be the list that we will go after.....and it will have zero scope, vision and imagination.
It will be lazy and timid and will result in another mistake.

At this point we really dont need an old coach looking to prove something

It's more about historical reference as an expectation/indicator of future performance.

Butch has warts, big ones for sure, but COULD prove as successful as any name not Saban/Meyer/Fisher.

How are all the "great hires" of the past few years working out around CFB?

Fuente? Franklin? Hermann? Muschamp? Malzahn? I'd even say Smart has failed to live up to expectations (as unrealistic/realistic as they might be)

Bob Stoops...I go to the board and I tell them I need 8 mill a year and I hire that man to rebuild this **** show.

Where are the big gurus in this thread? Consigliere? Franchise? Gator Hater? I would love to see the next home run hire and have them stand behind the hire in their third year.

Short list (in no order):
Babers
Neal Brown (Troy)
Cristobal
Matt Campbell (ISU)
Norvell (Memphis)

I think I would go with Neal Brown. That dude can coach and develop.
I would also put Lance Leipold of Buffalo on this list. Numerous D-3 championships at Wisconsin-Whitewater and is now winning big at a place where their best season ever is 6-6...they still haven’t even won a bowl game in their history.

If Richt gets canned....

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. Ain't gonna happen and no amount of wishful thinking is going to change that. One year from now I predict we will be in precisely the same (or worse) shape regurgitating the same isht after yet another lost year.

Better? The guy has one everywhere he has been and is aggressive on offense and almost beat Clemson 2 years in a row. Babers all day!

Has beat 1 top 25 team in the last 3 years..............and they were actually ranked 25th
