I know everyone is griping about ESPN and their SEC bias. I can't stand some of their commentators and the fact of Thuffering Thuccotathh Thylvethter Lou Holtthh commenting on there is enough to want to write them off. But who else is there? A lot of other sites may have good commentators but their Internet sites and game updates lag way behind ESPN. Whenever I've wanted to get a score update or something, I have to admit ESPN has the best. It's accurate, fast and easy to read. I've wanted to give other sites a chance but they just keep letting me down.

Just curious but what sites does everyone go to when they want their updates? Do you as a strict rule avoid ESPN no matter what or do you give in and follow ESPN to follow the scores? Fox Sports, CBS Sports, what else?

There sadly isn't an alternative. Fox Sports dropped the ball. All they had to do was market themselves as a network for "the rest of us" with an implied dig at the $EC, the New York pro teams and the Boston Red Sox and they would have been golden. I'd throw the Lakers in there too but they're irrelevant now and you could let them slide in order to not offend your Pac-28 loyalists.

Think about media markets in college football alone. The $EC is not where they're at. I realize actual game broadcasts are already set but Fox Sports really should have came at eSECpn's bias hard in order to at least get viewership for their commentary and news based programming. Instead they choose to toil on the periphery while kinda focusing on the west coast stuff.

I only watch actual games anymore, I stopped with Gameday a few years ago. Sad, it was a great show that got waaaay too long and tried to be entertainment and not talk about football. Once a show like that gets its own theme song you know it's over.
Kinda like that ridiculous Sunday night football song.
Fox screwed the pooch.

ESPN is doing what the cable news stations did. Biased coverage.

Miami fans are the smartest. They started boycotting this industry first.

I still use espn just cause there the biggest and have the most resources and that shows imo. They are just biased as ****. As long as you can see through the SEC bull**** then it's not bad. For example I love listening to Jalen Rose talk basketball. I don't watch it as much as I use to tho, I get most of my sports news online from various outlets.

Espn/sec mojo isnt working on us but it is highly effective on 16-18 yr old recruits. The sec is nfl lite and puts kids in the league...

I had to show my kids the acc's active nfl numbers. They couldn't believe how close the numbers are. Gotta beat em in big games and bowls.

Problem is they play no one; they have a wall built around themselves and refuse to play anyone worth while out of conference then they hype themselves up and proclaim to be the baddest around.

Last year bowl games their top 3 lost ('Bama, Auburn and Georgia). Yes they went 7-3 but look at the wins LSU over Iowa, the new golden child Miss St over Rice!

'Bama's OOC schedule consists of WVU, Fl Atlantic and W. Carolina; Miss St has UAB, So Alabama and UT Martin.

Its sad but thats what a monopoly is and we have to eat it. ESPN cornered the market; all we can do is pick a secondary team and join the bandwangon. Either that or root for FSU to spoil the party.

I have ESPN blocked by parental control..only time I watch is when Miami plays. Even then I turn the channel during commercials, extended timeouts and half time.

I know it might not make a difference but I am doing my part

I was getting ready to like your post but then I read that last part.

I guess Fox Sports has a better updated scoreboard than CBS Sports. I keep giving them a chance and they keep letting me down though. lol

I watch sportscenter in the early morning hours for an update on yesterday's event or whatever. That's it. Five minutes into any other game day show my eyes glaze over .

Most weeks, I only watch a game if it's on ESPN and then I usually try to catch College football final - which doesn't have all the hyper farcical production that game day has. But I really wish that someone would make a run at college football and not let ESPN corner the market.

All we heard about was how Fox was going to give them a run, and they've been an unmitigated failure.
It's funny that when the news broke that ESPN was getting in bed with the SEC everyone who warned this would happen was looked at like they had on a tinfoil hat... well now everyone see's it.
I was reading an article yesterday by Mike Perrier(SP) the retired official, and he was ripping the SEC and how they control their officials, to keep the league on top, really insightful article.
