This guy was one of the top minds for a while and obviously anyone on the BAMA staff should be considered a top mind.

Why...

At the age of ONLY 29,

He became the youngest coordinator in Clemson history. In his first season as CU’s coordinator, the 2009 Tigers scored a school-record 436 points and scored 54 touchdowns (third-most in school history), averaged 5.73 yards per play (fourth best) and finished as the ACC Atlantic Division champions. Quarterback Kyle Parker was named a Freshman All-American and nine players Napier coached from 2009-10 went on to have careers in the NFL.

Napier WAS ALSO Clemson’s recruiting coordinator. He compiled the second-best class in the nation by ESPN.com. Known to his peers as a top recruiter, Napier has signed several players who went on to the NFL, including Kavell Conner, Crezdon Butler, Brandon Thompson and Marcus Gilchrist. Fourteen players from Clemson’s 2011 two-deep roster were signed by Napier, including five who earned all-ACC honors.

Napier spent the 2011 season on the Alabama staff (Saban thought highly of him) as an offensive analyst, helping the Crimson Tide win the 2011 BCS National Championship. The Tide ranked 16th in scoring offense, 30th in total offense and 17th in rushing offense in 2011.

McElwain brought him with him to Colorado State.

Came back to Bama as WR coach, coaching Amari Cooper and now Ridley.

The guy is great recruiter and great coach, and has learned from the best. The guy has some hiccups, but the kid was 29-30. MacElwain bringing him, and then Saban bringing him back says everything I need to know.

This is obviously all a big if!

lol at you guys still falling for the Napier troll job. There's almost as much chance of Chip Kelly coming here to coach WR's as there is Napier.

Please give at least one legit reason the lowest paid member of the Bama coaching staff would not accept the CO-OC/WR coach job at Miami for 600k?

Was surprised to see he is the lowest paid member of Bama staff at $340k.

He may be trying to get a raise.

FYI...he was hired by FSU for one month and then bailed for Alabama like Mario.

Why would a WR coach being given a raise and promotion to co-OC be the same as a proven $6M per year HC coming here to coach WRs?

UM fans are defeated. I hope Richt doesn't think giving Bama's WR coach a promotion is preposterous.

There is absolutely zero legitimacy to the "rumor". It was nonsense started by a poster who has since been banned.

I think they'd have to throw a very large sum of money at him. He left to Colorado State with Swamp Donkey before going to Bama so that makes me think he might not be as locked in but it'll take some serious coin.

I'm not even going to speculate who it is. Who knows what direction richt will go in

Right. To be clear, it's not so much that I think he would never come here, particularly if the money was right, but there is zero reason to believe that he is even being considered. People got all excited based on a fake rumor.

I'm typically an optimist, but it would be hard for me to deem any WR coaching hire a "home run"

How do you know that?

It would be a home run because he has experience as an OC and would help Brown and Richt devise game plans. Also he is one of the top recruiters around.

Not saying that it's him, I'm not falling for anymore rumors. If it does end up being him then it's huge for the staff.

I don't care about the rumor. He's a WR coach who would be ideal here in the WR/co-OC gig. The fact it's a fake rumor doesn't make him an impossible hire as you made it appear.
