It will most likely come down to a "third party" analytics poll - our best bet is Clemson beats ND by 14+ so that we can factor in ND was at home and facing a backup QB, and still got walloped.

Then have to hope UNC gives them one **** of a fight.

It also wouldn't hurt if we started smacking some teams around instead of pulling out close contests, but winning each game does keep us alive.

It’s based on a rating system called Accuscore that’s similar to FPI or SP+.

Since Notre Dame is well ahead of Miami in rating systems (ND was something like #7 in FPI and Miami was something like #25 last I checked), they’ll get the bid. Unless we start beating everybody by 49 points and ND has a bunch of close wins or something.

It's called SportSource Analytics. Don't think it's available to the public.

The good news is UNC won't fold since they can defeat both ND and Miami and still make the ACCCG. They could give ND's defense a test, and we should be pulling for them to upset the Domers.

If ND beats Clemson, then we're probably f^cked.

Have to finish with 1 loss before I get concerned about something that I have no faith will happen anyway. We are better overall than last year but a long way from being a good team

Good news for us if Clemson beats ND with their backup QB.
Bad news for us if ND beats them with their backup QB, easy rematch with Lawrence playing in the ACCCG.

Yeah, let's pull back on the conference tie-breakers and VT talk for a bit.

Don't think we will finish with one loss. Check out this Friday's game and see if we still have one loss

What I wanna know is if we finish 3rd in the conference do we still have a shot at the orange bowl? Just looked at Jerry Palms bowl projections today and he has us slotted in the Orange Bowl against Georgia and Notre Dame vs Penn St in the Peach Bowl. Apparently, the Fiesta, Peach, and Cotton Bowl are all at large vs at large this year and have no conference affiliations
