If Miami can pay Golden 2+ mil in salary

That's why I say eff an indoor practice facility....we have more pressing needs.
 
If there is a coordinator i want its Chad Morris. That guys offense would be insane with the kind of players miami gets. You want a coach who play to the strengths of his players? Chad ******* Morris.

There'll always be a trade off.

Spread guys tend to not pay attention to defense and defensive-minded coaches tend to have too conservative an offense.

There's gotta be a happy medium. Finding that will be the issue.

Very true. I like what Art Briles is trying to do at Baylor. He's at least putting together a semblance of a defense with Phil Bennett. If we could find an arrangement like that we'd kill.

With some of these offenses, you don't need a great defense. You just need a few stops here and there and a turnover or two. Oregon comes to mind with that. They just overwhelm you to the point where if you don't answer every score you get in too big of a hole.

This time around, I think I'd prefer an offensive genius over a defensive guy. I think it's easier to put together at least a decent defense with the recruits we can get down here than it is for a defensive guy to put together a high-octane offense.
 
The problem is not necessarily paying a new coach. It's paying a new coach while also having to pay the buyout of Goldens contract. This is why Blake James has to force wholesale changes of Golden's staff when the season's over and hope to God that it irritates AG enough to quit....

Just hope you don't run into Jeremy Pruitt because Pruitt eviscerated him last weekend. Held them to 15 yards in the 2nd half.

Bob Stoops has made it work at OU, He has had Kevin Wilson, and at that time a **** good defense. But agree with your general premise.
 
Can and will are far apart. We have a lot of big donors to academics, not so much for athletics
