If Mario doesn’t happen

I think Kiffin and Gundy have to be interviewed. I would actually maybe prefer Gundy IF he can convince the AD and co. He would be able to recruit S Fl. That would be the only question mark I’d have on him.
Disagree; we need someone to recruit the rest of the state, and elsewhere, well. Otherwise recruiting same S Fl. gets the same old results. Miami fans are stuck in the 90s with that ancient approach. The top tier programs don't just recruit S Fl. They recruit the nation well, and the rest of the state well.

Besides, the best of Dade / Broward want to go where they have the best chance to win, that excludes us until we start winning consistently rather than failing consistently.

Give me a lunchbox coach who recruits well overall, not just another coach who over focuses on S Fl, because that has failed us.

Mario and Lane are in my top 2. If Chun hired Lane that’s a plus in his column. White hiring Taggart is a big fat minus. Outside of them, I would be fine with Stoops or even Herman.
Yep, it's clear that it's Mario's job if he wants it.

If he doesn't, interview Lane, Stoops and Herman. All three would be a tremendous upgrade on what we've had since forever.

Lane would use Miami as a rest stop to a bigger job, or jump back to the NFL. Can't see him sticking around more than a few years.

Mario would plant his flag in Miami and would be a life-type if he got the Canes turned around; which would be welcomed after so many great ones came and went too quickly—Howard, JJ, Butch.

I think every move UM is making right now is to lure Mario home—knowing this is his dream job and that he's only coming IF he feels the Canes are committed to winning big.

Agree with this 100%.
