If Mario doesn’t happen

Mike Gundy will retire as the OK St HC, he’s never leaving.

He played QB there for Pat Jones, got his first job ever as a coach there under Bob Simmons, got hired by Les Miles to be his OC & took over as HC once Les took the LSU job & has been there ever since.

Gundy been at OK ST for the last 22 years of his life & not to mention he literally grew up there.

If Mario stays in Oregon, Lane is undoubtedly the top choice, IMO I’d take Lane over Mario, but I know that wouldn’t happen lol.

The only way Mario doesn’t come back is if Oregon makes the playoffs & they give him a big pay raise contract extension that puts him at $6-7mill per year, otherwise I think he’s coming to Miami.

What if he doesn’t make the playoffs but gets offered that extension? Based on the market rate, I think Um would dish out 6-7m for him.

So if it were a CNN shirt he’d be 1a? I don’t have a F what his political beliefs are and FL is a red state so who cares anyway.

Don't project. And think more. OAN is not CNN or even Fox for that matter.

Bottom line is that was a major problem in f'ing STILLWATER OKLAHOMA. He had to take a $1M pay cut for it. If you don't think that would preclude him from becoming coach at la Universidad de Miami in Dade County, you're even dumber than your post.

If we got Lane, we would be in serious contention for the Coastal and ACCHCGM his first year. Mario would probably be a bit more of a slow build. This is what pulls me toward Lane - I think out of everyone, he would be the fastest track to Miami winning 10 games a season again.
He'd have 10 wins year 1.

Lol at "or even Fox" jab.
CNN has been an absolute clusterphk, especially the last 5 years with their Russia Hoax, Nicolas Sandman and other obvious Hoaxes...Worse, not only they did push out the Fake News, they were active creators of it, often working hand-in-hand with the Deep state, Clintons and, yes, even the dreaded Russians.
...
Big yikes.

OT, Miami needs to stick to the plan. Mario, and if he says no, Lane.

The good thing is that, nationally, people seem to understand that this is serious and are taking Miami serious again. That will help land Mario, Lane, assistants, whatever.

It was a major problem because the media and cancel culture made it one. I know Gundy doesn’t want to coach here but our arrogance towards wanting a certain coach due to the silliest things is why we suck right now. We didn’t want Mullen, or Butch again, or Kiffin, or Mario, or etc for the silliest reasons. There are no squeaky clean coaches, other than ones who suck. That is the most important thing we need to do, is stop thinking we need a perfect guy. We need a winner, period.

he does have an immediate impact everywhere he goes but in what shape does he leave programs? Not a rhetorical question. I really don't know. What did he leave behind for the next guy to deal with at USC, Tennessee, and FAU?
