IF Kiffin or Cristobal or Other, Are any current staff retained?

You need to change the culture. That's one of our biggest problems. The more you retain the harder that will be. Unless someone is completely irreplaceable then I think you need to let them go.

IF Miami parts ways with Diaz and hires Kiffin, Cristobal or any other HC, what's the likelihood that any of Lashlee, Hickson, Robinson, Simpson are retained?

Lashlee has brought in best QB room in Miami in 30 years.

Hickson has brought in top talent through his whole tenure with Chaney & Rooster being two of the best Since Duke (Lingard was 5*, but didnt pan out)

Robinson proven track record of developing elite studs that play at next level, and quickly got commitments from multiple elite DB's

Simpson has often been praised as best coach on staff, while identifying and teaching up solid D lines. (JHH groomed, LT, Willis, Nesta, Mcintosh, etc)

O line play has improved a lot, on top of having the most talent in that room in the longest time as well.

Thoughts?....

A few good coaches in there but every single one of them is replaceable with someone as good or better. Let the new HC work.

@Liberty City El
You think USC retains Donte at DB coach? You already know where I’m going with this.
Considering that he only coached west coach teams (USC, Oregon, Nebraska, Arizona, San Jose St, Nevada, & Washington) I have a hard time seeing him come to miami. But hey, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Virtually no chance, though I would prefer Lashlee's offense over what I have seen out of Oregon under Cristobal.

Lashlee has gotten more out of TVD than Oregon got out of Herbert relative to expectations, which is mind-blowing, and both conferences suck.

OTOH, a Cristobal constructed OL makes Lashlees short yardage calls a lot less annoying.
u hit all the great points!!

I’d tend to agree, but if SC’s eventual guy wants to bring his guy in at DB coach then I’d hope Mario would atleast make that call given the connection (if it ends up Mario and T Rob goes elsewhere).

Lashlee didn't bring in TVD....Enos did...

Lashlee’s scheme brought us into the century, but his feel for play-calling leaves a lot to be desired.

It’ll be tough to lose T-Rob and maybe I’ll pour a non-alcoholic beverage out for Likens and Hickson, but that’s it.

I am 100% okay with cleaning house. And, when I say "clean house" I mean EVERYBODY. That includes all coaches, GAs, analysts, S&C, nutrition, community relations and the **** receptionist.

We need a deep cleaning.

With that said, if (an unnecessary "if") we keep personnel, I'd reluctantly be okay with one or two of the following (in order of preference):

1. DVD (in some capacity preferably not as an assistant coach)
2. T-Rob (only as a position coach, not DC)
3. Lashlee (only if Mario is HC and there are not clearly better options)
4. Likens

That's it. Short list for me.

Lashlee has put together back to back Top 35 offenses with an Average WR/OL units. Continuity is important in my opinion, if we hire a defensive minded HC then Lashlee should remain on as OC unless there is a clear upgrade, like Dan Mullen gets fired and needs an OC job or something

Enos recruited TVD. Lashlee coached him, sure, but I wouldn’t keep Mr. 4th and inches on the payroll.

If U hire the right guy, staffing won’t even be a concern. The right guy brings the right staff in. Wether he retains some from the last staff or starts from scratch.

of course, mistakes happen

The right coach will address the issue unless there’s pressure from above tying his hands
Do not believe a good coach would take the job if he can not choose his own staff
