If Jarren had played last year

One of many Hurricane mysteries. Why didn't JJ put in Geof Toretta in 1986? Not playing Jarren bothered me all of last year. When Perry sucked I was sure the next option was Jarren, instead we go more Rosier. WEIRD!

Every time I start thinking about how JW played against the turds I can’t help but wonder how much different things might have been if Richt had played him last year.

The year was done for the most part after the Duke loss so it couldn’t have been that.

He could have played 4 games without losing his RS so it couldn’t have been that.

Why didn’t Richt play him.He knew Rosier was gone and he was going to need to break in a new QB so did he really think that Perry was the guy and Williams wasn’t worth giving a shot?I just can’t get my head around why he wasn’t inserted to get game experience.

Just think how much better he might be if he had gotten 3-4 games of experience.

I appreciate all the good that the man did for this school especially walking away without putting us in a HUGE financial hole with the buyout and getting the IPF built.

But man I’d love to know how good JW would have been going into the season with some actual game experience.Gotta think he’s not standing back there holding the ball or maybe he’s able to find his check downs quicker if he had gotten the experience.

Why Mark Why ????? Why didn’t you play him ????
THIS!!! Logic and reason kept demanding that Jarren be played and yet Richt went with Malik because he was "playing it conservative" which was actually playing it risky. So incredibly short sighted and dumb. Including playing a lot more youth, why didn't Mark do more of that? Anyway, here's to coaching logically moving forward.

Sure blame it on the refs
Let’s see. Bandy was held right in front of the ref on Toney’s run. The Blades PI call was bogus. The holding on Mallory on the fake field goal wasn’t holding. The holding on Cam’s run negated a TD. They picked up the flag on what would’ve been 1st and goal for the go ahead score. It was absolutely the refs.

There’s a lot of things to play The if game as far as IF JTdoesn’t drop the pass,If JT doesn’t drop the punt ,IF the refs didn’t ***** us endlessly etc. but I was just wondering how much different JW might have reacted had he been given game experience last year.

When you lose a close game there’s a lot of little things that could have changed the score one way or the other.

I believe Jarren will be real good in the future.I was just wondering if he would ALREADY be real good had been given that game experience.

Sooooooo he was very accurate. So accurate that he didn’t play him 🤷‍♂️

Exactly. Nothing Richt did on the offense made any sense.

It was like intermittent lucidity - and Jarren never popped in his head during the few moments of brief lucidity.

OR - the phenomenal QB coach - was ****ed at Jarren for something.

ok...always someone else's fault

not the missed assignment or the 3 missed tackles on Toneys run. You admit it was holding on Cam's run so not sure your point on that. Wasnt PI when Jordan dropped the ball

Richt don’t like starting freshman. He’s used to a Deep College Roster and not rushing people in even if that means playing Rosier

There are multiple possibilities.
The refs sucked. Had they called a correct game, it probably would have gone our way.
Had we played slightly better on offense and/or defense and/or special teams, it probably would have gone our way.

If Bandy wasn’t held there would’ve been no missed tackles on Toney’s run. I didn’t admit there was holding on Cam’s run either. It was a questionable call and a late flag. You don’t throw a flag on a deciding play in a game and then pick it up. That’s BS. These are all facts. I was there seeing the whole field.

Ya'll do realize JW lost focus sometime after camp when he realized he didnt have a fair shot at the job.

He gained weight, & was immature off the field. Had he stayed ready, MAYBE Richt would have played him.

Keep the players accountable.

You do realize there were 2 holding penalties on that play. Those arent facts...those are interpretations with orange and green glasses. You keep doing you and blaming everyone else besides Miami

The best that we can do as fans is connect the dots.l since we do not have any real insight into Mark’s head. I wonder if Jon, our esteemed QB coach, didn’t figure out how to make him the best QB that Jarren could be. Without development, perhaps Perry and Rosier is all that we had besides a kid that had a cannon. I’m thinking that Enos has helped him step up his game, not to mention the open competition that he definitely didn’t have the summer before last. This time, no one had an edge out of all 3 of them and Jarren put in the work to earn his shot.

It almost seems that Richt knew he was going. After seeing the BS Perry was pulling you’d have thought he’d have put Jarren in to see what he had for the following year seeing as how he couldn’t be sure that Perry wold not get himself suspended with his porno movies.
They hadn’t recruited a QB so it was going to be down to Perry and Williams.

As a head coach who was planning on being the coach going forward you'd have at least wanted to see what he had in the other one going forward. But that’s just me trying to use common sense something that wasn’t used much as it pertained to the offense.

How many **** ****s have you sucked? You’re wrong 100 and the fact that you keep leaving out major points proves your motives even more. Go blow lil Timmy and get off this board.

Richt should have given Jarren more reps last year but it would not have made a difference last week. I don’t think Tom Brady could have stood a chance playing behind that OL.

Nah, the OL sucked but Jarren missed plenty of open WRs and held the ball way to long. He wasn’t very good and anyone saying otherwise is sugar coating it. Enos called him out for good reason. 6 of the 11 sacks were on Jarren. He had JT4 deep wide open on at least 4 plays I saw. He didn’t throw it once. He was scared to make a mistake. You have to be scared not to win.

I actually think Williams not playing last year was a blessing in disguise.
