Since I believe that Manny should be our DC anyway, I think a stud recruiter who could pull in a lot of talent and help with the defense, could be a good thing. I wonder if they can reach out to Simpson and bring him back with the title of DC. Have him run the DL and help with organization on the defense.

They are bringing in a chief of staff anyway, so perhaps, this could free up Manny to do the one thing that he’s actually good at. I’m sure I am just wishfully thinking here. And makes too much sense.
I first mentioned Simpson as a possible DC about two months ago.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but I wouldn’t hate it.

No.

No.

No.

Manny’s defense is all smoke and mirrors. It gets shredded vs legit competition.

Go out and hire a top notch DC and let him run his own system.

I like the San Diego State guys.

Either Rocky Long or Zach Arnett.

There is zero chance that Manny brings in someone else to run a different system and you know that. Just looking for another reason to bash him if this hypothetical scenario actually occurs and he doesn’t hire someone you’ve mentioned previously.

I do enjoy some of your routine but the negativity towards my Canes is wearing on me.

Charlie Strong at DC, Randy Shannon at LBers Coach.... and put Diaz’s weak *** striker defense in the 🗑 where it belongs.

The striker is not a bad thing. A lot of teams use them. Actually every football team has them. We have ours out more than other teams but nonetheless they are on every team, just called different names

If Baker leaves, I think it would be a wise decision to do a deep dive into Strong's history and give him a serious look.

• Coordinated multiple top 25 offenses in the SEC at South Carolina and Florida
• Only Zook staff member retained by legend Urban Meyer
• Had top 25 defenses at Louisville
• I think he's regarded as a good recruiter and did well in the state of Florida while at UF and Louisville but I defer to someone who knows more about this area of Strong's historg
• 10+ wins 3 times as a head coach
• Must be innovative and a bright football mind because apparently he invented the 3-3-5

Seems like a hard-*** former head coach that has fielded a lot successful defenses in his career. We definitely need to be a tougher team because we got a pencil-neck running the show.

The prudent move would be to interview him if Baker leaves.

We'll probably promote Banda and Patke.

No.

I don’t know that.

Manny needs to save his ***.

All options should and I think will be on the table.

Lol ok. Well if you don’t know that then let me tell you. There is NO way Manny is hiring someone to implement a different system. 0.0
% chance.

He’s clearly betting on himself this year. The Zo situation made that obvious. He’s going to sink or swim on his own merits. Hiring someone to revamp the D and ultimately receive the credit for a turnaround just ain’t gonna happen. So go ahead and prepare your **** talking posts now.

And I’m not even sure why we’re talking about this because I just don’t see LSU hiring Baker anyways.

The way UM uses the striker position makes it pretty useless and it should also not be our base defense. If you want more athleticism on the field then recruit more athletic LBs and recruit the DBs position well enough were you can succesfully use a nickle package and stop putting failed, stiff CBs and Safeties in to cover slot Wrs. That **** does not work. For example, the star position at UF and the striker position at UM are pretty much the same, but Trey Dean is alot more versatile where he can guard slot WRs well and if a starting CB got hurt, they could move him to boundary CB; UM cant do that with the type of athletes they are using at the striker position, meaning that they are not using this new concept well at all.

The 4-3/3-4 is going out of style just like the pro style offense. The more u see the spread the more teams you'll see with a hybrid "striker" the type position.
I will say this I think the striker position is good depending on how you use it, and UM sucks at using it

Manny is not hiring an alpha on his staph. As bad as things have been, him and BJ have kept Zo at bay. Manny will just do Manny. Expect no more, no less. Even with the gun pointed at his foot, and having choices otherwise, he’s going to insist it’s his way or the highway, with little James applauding with a cheap stale cigar between his fingers. I’m just content to let things play out the way they do. There is no other way. Let it crash and burn, folks, crash and burn. At least then, there will be a chance of new era for the program.
