Identity versus schematics

We don’t self scout even though Mario says it all the time . You can’t be if you’re this predictable

Mario's version of self-scouting isn't breaking trends.

He's evaluating how to try and succeed despite repeating himself.

Several things can be true at once: 1). I firmly believe we will never win anything in the ACC. The officiating has been lopsided for years, and in close games… that matters. 2). Mario is anchored to a roster philosophy that cannot win big. Out muscling teams was possible pre-NIL when some schools could cheat without repercussions and stack rosters. Mario learned under Saban, and Saban taught him some bad lessons. There is a reason Saban retired when he did. For instance, I am almost convinced that spending big on edge rushers is a waste if holding is no longer called on OLs. 3). Mario’s game day coaching is poor. His philosophy on offense is a reflection of his roster construction. He genuinely believes physicality is more important than scheme. We just saw a scheme beat us without running the ball effectively at all. In a world of NIL parity, you need a great offensive scheme.

This team looked completely sturdy against ND, UF, USF, and most of FSU. From the 4th Q of FSU, something happened to this team. I never saw a team regress this bad. it seems Marios team really get juiced up for big games, but cant turn it on against competitive ACC team like Louisville, SMU. Im baffled by the was we regressed week-over-week since FSU. i think we are gonna see a lot of players opt out soon, and worse, the talent from 2024 class like Lyle, Trader, Lofton gonna end up leaving, and we have no QB again. Wait till we see how depressing December is

It's painful to watch.

Every year I had three plays my offense was predicted on and revolved it around that and each of those plays had 4 off of them with multiple motions and formations with that.
Every game I would ask myself and my team of offensive coaches, " based on their defense, what's going to be our counter punch if they neutralize our foundation" basically if they decide to their job and scout and do a good job of it, we have to show that we can be prepared.

This staff seems like they don't know how to do.that.

One thing I had on the defensive side was the DBs cushions and the high usage of sails and soar from RBS and TEs, and guess what exposed AGAIN. Mind you the defense wasn't the problem.

I just get very aggravated when I see these coached getting paid millions when I could do so a significantly better job, or at least someone else. Football isn't effing hard man, but they make it hard.
