TCU, who is now #4 and above the 1-loss teams. Before you start talking about the teams they beat, keep in mind we beat the brakes off one of their conference's best teams last year in the bowl game. This all comes down to hatred for the ACC, despite the conference winning 2 of the past 4 titles. I say it time and again. Va Tech and NC State are ranked too low, and Virginia wasn't getting any kind of mention before last week while freaking Memphis with the same record was ranked.

No question they do not want us back; they went though a lot of trouble to get rid of us. But it is not the racism you speak of. It is that our success was against the establishment not because of it. Bama is as black a team as Miami ever was but they win the "right" way -- because of institution, coach and donors, not so sort of family bs of players coming back and helping next group. Oh sure they hated the dancing but others danced too. It was the fact that our kids did it on their own and make it clear they owed nobody anything for it. That was our crime. The team being black mattered but only because blacks are not supposed to pull that crap off without the government doing it for them. Other than that, you got it right.

One thing, if we win out we will be in the playoffs. TV money will see to it. The love of $$$$ will override racism this first year. If we win then they will do everything to stop us the next year but ratings will demand us this year. They will trust Saban and his house blacks to take us to the woodshed. That said, I understand what you are feeling.

Winning is winning ....... When did "impressive fashion" which is very subjective because what's impressive to you might not be impressive to me become a factor in ranking teams?

I don't make the rules, but the OSU is curb stomping everyone, and they are ahead of us, so it seems like it matters.
 
He's 1million% right though. We're not given the "benefit of the doubt" that Wisconsin and Notre Dame receive. Why? I don't know. But it's the case. And you can bet your *** the players know it too.

Wisconsin, is curbstomping the sisters of the poor, notre dame is also curbstomping the sisters of the poor (and curb stomped a USC team that was highly thought of at least) so it just looks better than us getting by the skin of our teeth. That said, if we beat VT and ND ( And everyone else on our schedule) we are guaranteed moving up.. not only because some teams ahead of us are going to be in tough games, but also because even if we eek those out, it will be perceived that it's against good competition.
 
Where we supposed to go eeking out a win against an unranked team with no one above us losing? Brilliant call.

I really try to look at all people in the same way... that is until you make the point that race stands between us. Like Rodney King so eloquently said some years ago, "Can we all just get along". Yes God help us.

I honestly could see herbstreit trying to justify on espn if Miami went undefeated how a 1 loss big 10 team should take our playoff spot .

THEY ALREADY ARE TALKING ABOUT ACC OR PAC 12 BOTH BEING LEFT OUT BECAUSE THE LEAGUE'S ARE SO WEAK THAT A 1 OR 2 LOSS TEAM FROM THE SEC OR BIG 10 IS BETTER THAN A UNDEFEATED OR 1 LOSS TEAM FROM THE ACC OR PAC 12

That's insane! It's the other way around. The Big ## and the SEC don't have the depth the ACC does this year.
 
Why don't you worry about this once the playoff rankings are released. The coaches poll has always been a sht show.

Nobody is basing anything off of a poll that is filled out by some secretary of the head coach.
 
Assumptions:

Penn State wins out
Miami wins out
TCU wins out
UGA beats Bama.

Do they keep Bama out?

We need to be honest ......

NC State(who people say is under-ranked) lost to a very middle of the road South Carolina team in the SEC at home.
GT lost to a very crappy Tennessee team in the SEC

Those losses really damage the perception of the league. Those losses are part of the reason why Miami is last in the pecking order. GT doesn't lose to that ****** Tenn team....They are 5-1, Ranked somewhere around #15-18 and our 1 point win has a totally different perception about it.

Last year the ACC finally stopped losing those games......but this year those 2 losses, coupled with #3 FSU getting destroyed by Bama(before QB got hurt) established a conference pecking order right now. Yes, Clemson beat Auburn....But ACC went 1-3 in those games. Those early season OOC games are so important for setting the perception of the league.
 
We won't go undefeated so you will never know. If we did and didn't make the playoff you would have a point.
 
But I think all teams above us play others above us. So there can only be 4 in beaten teams.
 
I'm gonna withhold most of my venom until after VT and ND games. Right now, the pollsters are ****ting on UM. "Oh they just barely beat a bad Syracuse team" you say? Well, Clemson lost to them and still jumped Miami in the poll somehow. If Miami beats UNC, VT and ND and they're still on the outside looking in at the playoff, then we can all lose our ****. Until then, let's keep a little perspective.

That said, our win against FSU is looking worse and worse every week. When the schedule only features a couple marquee teams, it really hurts for one of them to suck as bad as the semenholes have this year.
