Louisiana Lightning Ron Guidry? Both are from Louisiana. Louisiana Lightning was one of my favorite ever Yankees. I am NOT from New York but was raised in Fort Lauderdale where the Yankees did Spring practice. When I was a kid Spring ball was informal and we kids could hangout. Wish I hadn't put my Mickey Mantle cards in the spokes of my bicycle...sigh!

Do you know this is really an interesting thought.

My wife’s maiden name is Henderson, I wonder if she’s related to Rickey Henderson the baseball player. They’re both originally from Chicago.

Got a Mickey Mantle card. Sandy Koufax and Hank Aaron too I thought baseball, football, etc card didnt have much value these days.

Mickey Mantle cards are worth the most out of the players in the sets they were in, a PSA graded 1952 double print rookie card sold at an auction for over 2 million a few years back. Other graded cards of his went for over $200k at different auctions as well. The others should have decent value also depending on the year and brand of card.

This would be a perfect question for SMD to ask at the introductory press conference. I suggest reaching out to her. You and her could brainstorm some probing follow up questions.

You've been waiting for this moment, haven't you? LoL

She'd run with it too. This needs to happen.

SMD: "Is Ron Guidry a relative of yours, and if so, did his time spent playing professional baseball for the Yankees mold your love for football?"

Yes and no, lol. His cards were before my time but I did collect Cal Ripken Jr. Cards since he was my favorite player growing up. I’m not the all knowing about card collecting just what I see while looking in Beckett price guides.

I hear ya. I've collected on and off cards, comic books, and other stuff over the years. Good memories.

I must have used $500,000 worth of Cards in my spokes from 1968-1970 then...Lol
