I was wrong

Great for you to own it

As fans we need to better understand the difference between disappointment/frustration vs feeling we always need to fire the HC

Go Canes
The problem many had is the last 5 coaches probably shouldn't have been hired.
Absolutely Shannon and Manny shouldn't have.
So we were always right to want them fired before.
Besides RIcht im his twilight years of coaching we were miserable at it for 20 years.

Mario was the best choice for us.

I admit as well that I was wrong about Mario. I never expected to be in the Natty game this past season or anywhere close to any bowls game we won. He exorcised so many demons last season, 4-0 against rivals, beating 3 SEC teams, could’ve easily been undefeated but some things caught up with us middle of the season. Usually, the end of the season is where we break down but we rolled into the playoffs and rolled right through them and were only 40 yards away from a possible National Title. We win it all this upcoming season, I’ll be glad to say I was wrong again. I was skeptical just like a bunch of us, but he has worked his *** off for the University’s football team in more ways then none. Let’s get #6 this year!!!

Where we disagree is that when the approach is to control possessions it limits the margin of error and it is that margin of error that cost us that game.
I kinda agree with this. Josh pate spoke about it after the Ole Miss game and how certain styles of play can lead to a “backdoor cover”. Meaning, if you watched that game it felt like we were completely controlling it, we led in every important metric, and felt like we should’ve been up 3 TDs. But then you look up and it’s a 3 point game in the fourth quarter and the inferior team has a chance to win it in the last possession. It leads to very small margin of error where missed FG or Beck tipped INT can lead the other team to come right back.

The hope or expectation would be that we don’t play like that next year mostly cause we got Mensah and the WR room is being infused with talent. We certainly didn’t play that way in 2024 with ward

I'll admit it. I was down on Mario mid season. Questioning where we were going.

Looking at what he has built I was wrong.

There could not be a better coach for Miami.

The future is as bright as it has ever been.

Go Canes.
Facts. I was skeptical too at points, but you can’t deny the foundation he’s laying. Now we just gotta stack wins on Saturdays.

No you was a soft asz ***** like every other “mope” that got off on taking personal shots at Coach Mario since he got here.

Kudos to you.
There are probably 50-100 people on this chat board that dictate the conversation. There are ALOT more people that should come out and say they were wrong. BECAUSE they sure as **** weren't quiet when they thought they were right about Mario being unable to coach a game or lead a team.
It depends on how their opinions were conveyed.

There were a good portion of the anti-Mario posters who expressed "displeasure" somewhat reasonably.
It's the delivery and conviction of those other guys who don't get to slide. Not right away, anyway.

If I'm wrong about something I was being a ****head about, I would expect to catch a lot of ****.
The last thing i'd do is throw out the "Don't be petty. Let's move on" card.

Mario is an odd one plays tight against lesser teams but always has his teams ready for the big games. If he can just keep that 2nd half of the season energy for lesser teams he can really be great

Great
The SMU loss dropped Mario to 4-11 after the calendar hits November

I don’t blame anyone for thinking that at the time

Even 7 wins in a row we are still technically under .500
And your point?

Great

No worries @JHallCanes I undeleted this poRst from @txcanes in here on another attempted alt, once again looking to start trouble with another poster here (this time you), and again I made him dead like Chuck Norris on Rostov in Invasion USA.

I was down on Mario after SMU, but never stopped believing in him or this season when it happened. When things get bad and negative like that I just leave the board for awhile until things get better because they always do. I knew the season would turn around and I told yall we’d make the playoffs. I’ve learned that when the loud majority of this board packs it in negatively on a subject, that it will reach the people who can make a change and it will be corrected in time, because Mario cares.

I’ve learned to not hate Mopes. Mopes have a much needed utility in this fanbase especially. Group, nauseating Pessimism forces change in this football program. Moping gets ish done. When y’all get extremely upset, I get irritated but also happy at the same time. Mopes are never satisfied and we need that extreme to be balanced.

I fully expect the ACc officials to continue to **** us at every turn and they will cost us a game or more next year like they always do. I'll have the Clemson game and the UNC game circled on the calendar for ****ery.
Don't leave it up to the refs!
