I want Corn at KR this week.

Berrios is the best fair catcher in the game.

And fans underestimate what that's worth. As much as a great return can turn the tide, so can a lost fumble. I can't imagine the meltdown if Corn were to allow a late TD on Saturday after returning punts all night, or lose a fumbled punt. People would lose their minds talking about how it wasn't worth tiring him out on PR and we should have stuck with the sure hands guy. Bottom line, trust the coach.

Concussion hysteria has pretty much taken kick returns out of football. Don't even waste Corn's energy having him run on and off the field on KR.

Now punts? Yeah. In big games I'd love to see him as the PR.

Complain all you want about the fair catches but I rather have someone sure handed back there calling fair catches then risking a big play against for the chance of one for

When did the ability to catch punts and make plays as a PR become mutually exclusive? Why can't we have a guy who can catch it AND make plays with it? How often has Corn fcked us as a PR?

I want to see Homer and Malc on kicks, and would love to see young get a shot at punt return

Ok Mr. Pie-in-the-sky. Dude is supposed to catch ALL the punts AND return them? I've got a unicorn I'd like to sell you.

It's not that you can't have both, but I'm assuming that Richt sees something in the other guys that makes berries the best option and that's why he plays.

Leave Berrios at PR. He's good enough to get some yards, but more importantly, he's reliable. I like the idea of Homer at KR.

I'm not saying you can't have both, but rather have sure hands back there then chance either way. If not mistaken Berrios has at least one returned for a td

I guess we shouldn't discuss any use of personnel on here because Rick is infallible.

Couldn't agree more with OP. I have never seen a stat that shows a player is more likely to be injured returning a kick/punt than on any other play. If those stats exist, then I'll reverse course.

I get frustrated year after year watching other teams put their elite returners in the game and we leave ours on the sidelines during kicks. Clemson with CJ Spiller, USC with Bush, etc.

IMO, Coley and Corn should be KR, and Corn PR, with subs going in when needed if they need a breather on that particular play.

Now, if you have someone else who is just as, or nearly just as, dangerous but is not an every down player - then I would be ok with not using your top guy who is an everydown player (like Coley and Corn). I think Berrios is **** good as a punt returner, but I haven't seen anyone else do on KR what I've seen from Coley and Corn.

Wish Bruce wasn't hurt, would of loved to see him on both returns

This would have probably have been the best option. It's just another indication that we're not at full strength yet (depth wise). Can't risk Coley or Corn back there given the lack of proven options behind them, particularly with the upcoming schedule.

You need a stat to tell you that it's more likely a guy will get hurt returning a punt than not being involved in that play? How can he get hurt if he's not on the field for that play?

I'm okay with playmakers returning kicks. Put a quick WR or RB there and if they get hurt then next man up. If Corn get a hurt, we done.

It's a matter of situational football & circumstances dictating the outcome...

On Kickoffs, possibly but not likely... He could get us some good field position on a good return here & there, but you don't want him tired or even with the possibility of getting hurt.

On PR's, it's all about field position... If FSU is Punting to us in a good spot on the field where a solid return could get us great field position or possibly a TD, then **** yeah put Elder out there.

But, if we're getting the ball deep down in our own side of the field, then no, just keep Berrios back there because he's a very sure handed catcher & we never have to worry about him dropping the ball at all.
Not saying that we would have to worry about that with Elder either, but Berrios is the sure thing no doubt in receiving punts.
