I took the (playoff) oath...

during the night before at Carney's Pub (great place, btw) in Bryan, Texas, we made a pact that for as long as Miami is in this tournament, we'll go to every game till the end.

We did a toast at the morning tailgate to make it official. As long as the Hurricanes are in this, we'll be there live

Whose with us?

Where are Canes fans generally staying? Any pregame events or recommendations for parts of town?
Dallas is a metroplex. Generally speaking, south Dallas should be avoided. Places like Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove (south Dallas) are very rich in crime. Your car could be vandalized at night.

Immediate west Dallas should also be avoided. Again, high crime.

AT&T stadium, where the game is played, is west Dallas, but in Arlington (a suburb) that is farther west than the bad “west Dallas”. So staying in Arlington or Irving would be safe. North Dallas is always safe. It’s the rich part of Dallas where Matthew Stafford and Clayton Kershaw are from. Places like University Park, Lakewood, Highland Park) are all upscale and safe. The only negative about north Dallas is the cost and the driving distance to stadium (30-40mins). But your parked car while asleep in the hotel will be safe in north Dallas.

Now nightlife, bars and stuff. **** man, Deep Ellum and Uptown are the places to hang out at night. Everyone enjoys Deep Ellum.

I’m told Deep Elum can be dangerous at night.. lots of shootings etc.. I’m bringing the family so I won’t be out late anyway but just sharing what I heard from Dallas locals..

Who's* lol

I'll be in Dallas again. Hopefully with a better result cause the SMU game sucked.

Yea, be careful down there. The bars are cool but they're attracting a younger, wilder crowd.

If I didn’t already have travel plans for the holidays I would be there.

If they get by OSU I’ll be at the next one.

Anywhere (outside of north Dallas) *can be dangerous*. I lived in Deep Ellum in a loft for almost 8 years. Because of the bars, it gets loud and rowdy, lots of fights and yelling, but I really don’t remember gun violence.
