Our first problem is that this is no longer a "destination job."

1. Butch Davis knows how to build a National Championship team. Based on what? 13 years ago?
2. Butch Davis is as good a talent evaluator as anyone in the nation. Based on what? Early 2000s Miami squads?
3. Butch Davis is a better recruiter than Folden. Based on rivals rankings?
4. Butch Davis WANTS to coach at Miame.Who cares? How does that translate to on the field success?
5. Butch Davis - MIami can afford. Who cares? We can afford a lot of coaches
6. Butch Davis know what can be done with Miami speed and Miami quickness. What does that mean? Gus Malzahn, Chip Kelly or any competent OC/DC knows what to do with speed and quickness. Speed and quickness is not just in South Florida
7. Butch Davis knows what kind of coaches are needed to get the most out of Miami speed and Miami quickness.Again with the speed and quickness, who cares? If other coaches were given this opportunity they suddenly would not know what to do with those attributes?

And before some ****** says Donna won't allow it - she should be informed as to the need to pull the stick out of her *** - as Louisville hired Petrino back, and so far it's really working for them.Petrino has been a proven winner and top offensive coach since his last stint at Louisville. Also, Petrino doesn't have academic or football related problems.

Nice, however, out of all possible coaches in America you're clinging to ONE based off of his success from his time here at Miami and nothing else. If he was so great he'd be at a school already. He did nothing at UNC. Why don't we just hire Mack Brown or Lloyd Carr and have Gene Chizik as DC and Norm Chow as OC?
 
Butch built up UNC talent. They had a lot of studs there. That just happened. Not some **** from 2000. You idiot. Jeez some people are dumb. He would clean the ACC clock at Miami. He was about to at UNC. Golden disciples have no shame. I hope yall follow his *** out a here when he gets canned with his booty partner

What the **** did he do at UNC? Like I've said in all the other Butch Davis posts before, you guys are hoping he can replicate his Miami days. Why don't we just dig up all previous national championship head coaches and coordinators from the late 90s and early 2000s. Out of all the coaches in America, pro and college, this is the best y'all come up with?

Sure. The year Randy was fired he beat Davis' UNC. Like I said to Cane Dynasty, if he was so great why doesn't he have a coaching job? He was forever going to be a 7-5/8-4 guy at UNC.

The facts of Butch are out there to be had. He had nothing to do with the scandal at UNC it's all documented. His success at turning out quality teams/players after leaving Canesland is documented as well.

Yeah its still UNC. But if he produced all those first rounders at UNC he would have no problem doing it at Miami. Zero. He knows the type of players he wants. No guessing, and he knows where they fit. Especially in the trenches.

***** people don't want to take a chance cause he is stained by the scandal. It's simple. If UL can take back Petrino we can take back Butch. U can't defend No D anymore u start attacking a guy who knows how to assemble talent like they are collectibles. Proven record

You and Canes Dynasty are hilarious. You're literally basing your argument on what he's done at Miami and you don't even know it. Who cares that he was at UNC? Your perceived great coach would've faired well there. Dabo Swinney is doing pretty good at Clemson, David Shaw is doing pretty good at Stanford and James Franklin did good at Penn State. The point is f*ck a previous school's history. If you can coach you'll do well despite the circumstances. You both say he recruited well and built teams but he still was a middle of the road coastal team his 4 years there.

Also, he produced 2 1st rounders. It also makes your argument weak by stating all the talent he produced but still couldn't consistently beat GT and VT to represent the f*cking coastal. What recruiting advantages does GT or VT have over UNC? Why don't we just hire Frank Beamer?

Those a better football schools than UNC. Even if by not much. We know he would have no problem recruiting players. And he will hire good assistants. He will win the **** Coastal for a start at Miami. UNC was a dump when he took over.

And yeah I'd hire a 100 year Old Beamer if we can get rid of No D and Golden. They are going to be coaching Miami soon.....of Ohio!

I'm not a Golden fan. My choice has always been Petrino since Coker was fired and then Petrino again when Shannon was fired. Petrino never has academic or player problems. His problems are personal. Do you truly believe the reason Butch Davis has not been offered a job in 4 years while other coaches with "scandals" have is because his were greater or something? How the f*ck do Mike Leach, Lane Kiffen, or any other coach with violations have jobs?
