This "Cam held onto the ball too long" narrative you all keep parroting is going to look really silly later this year...

Honest question because I dont watch the NFL at all outside of a few minutes here and there.

How are UGA OL doing in the NFL because I thought I read where most arent doing great and the ones that are had to be coached up. Obviously its the NFL so to stand out as an OL you have to be a menace.

You mean when Cam held the ball too long because the offensive line afforded him that luxury? Yea, I sure hope they are as good or better as well.
Not sure what that guy watched last year but Cam had all day to throw to the point announcers would literally say he has "All day back there" LOL

Say what you will, but I sure hope Mirabal does better this year. Beck is not going to pull those Houdini moves that Cam Ward did.
Cam also didn’t get rid of the ball on time consistently, which put the OL in some rough spots. He usually had all day to throw.

The film doesn’t lie, Cam likes to hunt the big play, even in situations where the checkdown was open and that’s where the ball needed to go. As a result, sometimes the rush would get there, when in reality, the ball should have been long gone. That said, it’s tough to coach that out of a player like Cam because that confidence is a big part of who he is and what makes him great.

The OL was outstanding last season in all phases.

Boy there sure are a lot of experts here saying Cam doesn’t do check downs. The #1 NFL draft pick can’t do check downs. Meanwhile we still have the same OC and the WR room has not been improved upon.

My guess is Beck will have quite a few moments where his WRs are not available for the conversion and have no options.

The OL had better give him time.

Being drafted first overall doesn’t mean there aren’t coachable moments and trends in Cams game. The Georgia Tech game was a perfect encapsulation of something Cam can(and likely will) improve on. Again, no OL can give you unlimited time, great QBs tend to help their big uglies by understanding timing and when to bail on a play. Cam had moments where he did that to perfection, leading to some huge plays. He also took some sacks because he wanted the big play, instead of what was there. It is what it is. Doesn’t take away from his greatness, it’s just something that stands out on film.

Only this fanbase could find a way to crap on a very good unit, expecting a level of play that can best be called superhuman. In theory, the Miami OL should be championship caliber this year, period.

this is exactly what are happening. They for the most part are being drafted high off measurables. Mims started like 6 games.

I mean we had stacey searles coaching here we know what he is. Hes an avg at best ol coach..below avg talent evaluator/recruiter
