Ends up a tackle like Winston. He's been playing Tackle in
his games. Anyone know if I could be right (Pete, Geo 0r anyone)

The reason I say that is 35 to 50 pounds over Fr and R-Fr year can easily done.

I am not a work out guru but if this kid is in the 240 range then adding 50 pounds does not sound like an easy thing to me. I could be wrong though.

He's a blocking TE. He's not the large frame type that grows from TE into OT in my view. Richt has taken kids that are 6-5 and 240 in the hopes of making them tackles (to very poor results), but they have always been OL, not TE's.

Dudes an actual te, not a hybrid guy that can't block for crap

He knows that we are bringing him in as a blocking tight end. He will block in his career at Miami but won't see many passes

I think he's better than just a " blocking guy". Seems to move well, he's more of a complete te imo. Not just a one trick pony.

In the article on 247 from the visit this week the coaches told him they are bringing them in as a blocking tightend specifically. He probably can do more but catching passes over guys like Herndon, irvin, Haskins and or possibly mckitty? Can't see that happening

Well you can't play te if you you're no threat of catching passes , I mean that would give the play away . Compared to the other guys he is a run blocking te, Njoku and Herndon don't exactly blow folks back.

That's another reason our run blocking is bad , we don't have complete te's like guys in the past.

My point is he's more than a glorified ol, he's a legit threat of catching passes. Which is nice in power sets.

It's not an easy thing to do. Adding even 20 pounds of "good" weight is difficult. I believe gone are the days of trying to balloon up guys when they come into our program. Add 50 lbs and maintain your current athleticism that's asking for a lot.

Jason Witten probably runs a 5.0 flat by now but he's one of the most consistent TE's in the game. Not every TE needs to be an athletic freak. Big guys who can block and box out have a place in any offense.

Played Winston's Midland Lee team in a high school basketball tourney back in high school. ******* guy took up the whole paint.
