I think Dawson has the crew he can develop a high school quarterback firstWard wasn't recruited out of HS. Mensah had one offer. Both turned into stars. At what point does the University of Miami, who has all the resources available, land our own homegrown Ward or Mensah? This is QBU. Someone out of HS needs to take the reins. It is kinda getting ridiculous. Hopefully that is Coleman.

he's got it. a real gunslinger.
after one practice and seeing his HS press clippings, it's obvious:
he will beat out Emory and Judd this fall, and be the backup by week 3, and then will take over next year as QB1
oh wait, my mistake .... that was CIS last spring after Luke Nickel's first day
here is how much i care whether we stick with a qb room or portal it

Coaches got to figure it out. and money still talks too, every player and coach also thinks they are better than others, they will be the change.
Spot the **** ball, just don't give me another kirby freeman ever.
Understood I feel you. My money is on Coleman but if he gets beat out by Luke we’re still in good hands imoOf course I understand this. I am just speculating and it will be fun to look back when it is time to decide who our future QB is. We will get to see who was right or wrong.
one of the talking points back when ppl were starting threads about why Miami has underachieved so much since joining the ACC was subpar QB play @ the U compared to the Cream of the ACC like Clemson/FSU who both had dominant runs while we were down. I said a big common denominator in those runs was elite QB play. Ppl propped up Brad Kaaya and Stephen Morris lol. I think these past couple years with the portal has shown us we’ve been either average/lacking/Subpar at the position for a loooong time..Portal QBs have given us a winning program and changed trajectory of program overall, also final 4 playoff teams, 3 of them were portal guys and its obviously the best way for a program to stay at a high level. Yea lets throw that away and gamble a season away so QB can develop.
Would be better off sending QB to fau/duke or something as a farming system..![]()
of course, moral of the story is we are in a great hands. but I'm predicting Coleman to be the man! you heard it hear first!Understood I feel you. My money is on Coleman but if he gets beat out by Luke we’re still in good hands imo..you go portal again only if a Cam Ward type wants in again.
Its bizarre to me that people want to go back.. Its like they rather be 7 and 5 with home grown QBs than playoff winning program with transfer QBs. These high school kids bust at an extreme rate and we have not shown ability to develop one into a consistent winner.. Getting a proven cfb QB with legit cfb experience is a winning formula.. We are finally ahead of curve and seem ashamed of the new era of cfb. Coleman should go to FIU to get reps.one of the talking points back when ppl were starting threads about why Miami has underachieved so much since joining the ACC was subpar QB play @ the U compared to the Cream of the ACC like Clemson/FSU who both had dominant runs while we were down. Although I think Coleman can blossom into something special at this level I always felt it would be interesting to use a school like FIU/FAU as a kind of farm team where you can send true freshman QBs with elite traits to develop w/ live reps with the understanding that they will be brought back up thru the transfer portal instead of sitting behind a guaranteed starter like Beck/Ward/Mensah and getting next to 0 reps live, would be a win win for both teams imo as they arent really directly competing with each other for recruitsIts bizarre to me that people want to go back..
