I think its safe to say that we will finally stick with our QB room next year

Portal QBs have given us a winning program and changed trajectory of program overall, also final 4 playoff teams, 3 of them were portal guys and its obviously the best way for a program to stay at a high level. Yea lets throw that away and gamble a season away so QB can develop.

Would be better off sending QB to fau/duke or something as a farming system.. :ibis-roflmao-sm3:

I just don't believe we could credibly recruit HS qbs if we push the portal streak to a fourth year. If Dawson is here again, he and Mario both seem pretty confident in the quarterback room.

Question: Is it inevitable that you’ll eventually get a portal quarterback who doesn’t work out?

Shannon Dawson: Nothing’s 100 percent in life. I’m an old-school soul — I like developing kids, and reps in a system matter. At some point that’s going to mean more again.

Question: Is experience at quarterback more important than taking a talented redshirt freshman out of the portal?

Shannon Dawson: Experience matters at every position. Older kids typically play better than younger kids. If you’re going to roll the dice, that’s usually the better bet. I do think we have the best quarterback room in the nation.

I don’t think another portal QB will prevent great HS QBs from committing to Miami. Mario has proven he’s willing to start anyone at any position if they give us the best chance of winning. They’ll learn under Dawson and a Day 1 or Day 2 kid then win the job or move on.

I do like Nickel and Coleman and expect one or both of them could legitimately be our starter at some point. But you do whatever it takes to win.

not sure why most of you are against this and wouldn't want him starting his sophomore year

It's more like people are against dip**** porsters predicting NEXT year's starters based on the first day of spring practice 18 months in advance of the Utah game in Las Vegas.

Particularly after you hyped up JoJo Traded-to-NC-State.
