And Elmer was always there too for $30 or so .
I'm absolutely loving all this bourbon talk. Elmer T Lee is amazing for the price, only problem is its so hard to find and now its marked up ($50 minimum).
When it comes to intense flavor, Barrel proof is where its at. The Buffalo Trace Antiques are all fantastic. William Larue Weller and Stagg Sr are phenomenal. Some people get overwhelmed by the heat, but let it air out for a few minutes and game over. Even the nose is incredible. Definitely a sipper and the flavor lingers on the pallet for several minutes.
Parkers Heritage is another great bourbon that I haven't seen anyone mention. The problem is the allocation. Best bet is to find a trusted store that does a lottery or early sign up, usually a month or so before they arrive. Hopefully the store doesn't price gouge. If you are one of the first 20 people to sign up, you're pretty much guaranteed to get a phone call with a decent selection.

I’ll add to this OT thread.....wifey and I just had our 3rd boy a couple hours ago. Took 3 weeks off from work so looking forward to binging some shows.

Finished Mandalorian S2, Cobra Kai S3, and The Boys S2 (******* awesome series).

Started watching Your Honor (Brian Cranston from Breaking Bad) and it’s pretty **** good, but only get one episode a week. Started the final season of Vikings last night.

Anyone have any other suggestions?
Congrats dude! If you haven’t seen it already Peaky Blinders is an excellent show with like 4-5 seasons if I’m not mistaken.

Since we’ve already derailed it...

Give me some suggestions on sipping whiskey, bourbon, scotch, etc below $100.. or even better $50

Need to rebuild my stash. The Oklahoma state game made me finish 4 of my bottles that were about 1/4 full.
It may be derailed, but I look forward to Barry Jackson’s article on bourbon later today.

Blantons. You’ll thank me later. Hard to find though. Should be right around $100

Love me some Basil
I like Basil Hayden’s too but a lot of the bourbon snobs look down on it because it’s only 80 proof. I thinks it’s an easy drinker that goes for a reasonable price ($40 or so by me). There’s definitely better stuff but I’m not really the type to spend $100+ on a bottle of whiskey.

I hear you. For 20 bucks, Four Roses Yellow label is very drinkable. Even cheaper is Henry McKenna, (about $12 for 750 ml) I couldn't believe how smooth it was for that price. The 10 year bottled in bond is really hard to find now. And if you like wheated bourbons, Larceny is quality. Basil Hayden’s has a nice rye spice in the mash bill and its not overly sweet.

I can’t think of a better bourbon in that price point. 40-60$ range I would go...

OF 1920
Stagg Jr
Elijah Craig Barrel Proof
EH Taylor Small Batch
Weller Antique
OF 1910
1792 Sweet Wheat
Jefferson’s Ocean
Angels Envy
Blantons
Russell’s Reserve 10 year
Eagle Rare
I'm not a huge Bourbon fan, but Whistle Pig is delicious.

F this thread now - can we get back to important stuff?

LOL. One of my favorite message board heroes. As if people have information you want and they just forgot to talk about it because they got caught up talking about ******* bourbon. Such a weirdo.

There's nothing else to talk about on the "important stuff". Hence the derailment. When there is, it'll be posted.

**** don’t criticize PCB like that. You’re gonna drive down the value of my condo. Compare it myrtle beach.

hahaha I haven’t been to PCB since 2003 so I honestly don’t know how it is now. I know they got a new mayor at one point and he really cleaned up the area to get away from the whole spring break stigma it used to have back in the last 90’s

basil is a solid win for sure. Some others already mentioned is Old Forester. **** creek **** there are a lot of them around that $40 range that are really solid.

got a local liquor store that carries a ton of top shelf liquors and unique liquors. I have seen this whistle pig there but wasn’t sure about it. Might have to grab a bottle now. They got tons of **** in the $100-$300 range with some rare selections. I just don’t know enough to spend that kind of money on a bottle.
Most I’ve spent so far is $80 on some Calumet single rack 10 year. **** was delicious.

Lol Barry Jackson’s next article:

Sources internally have thrown around Jim Beam, Jack Daniels, Evan Williams, Elijah Craig, and the legendary Pap Van Winkle as those they would be interested in if they hit the portal.
Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens had a football coach named Jack Daniels for quite a few years.
