there is only one scenario where corch is not here the next year. it is laughable that some people think he might get hired away by another team and there's no way that James is going to fire him. the only solution is for the board of trustees to hire another president immediately who lives and breathes football. this administration would have to fire Blake James and Al Golden immediately and gut the whole athletic department. this all needs to take place before the bowl game. I'll take me some Condoleezza all day long...

You're a fool if you think Condi (or any other potential president) would make it their first order of business to fire an AD and coach just because the team isn't performing up to par. Unless Al and Blake have committed criminal acts (and no, they can;t be charged with stealing money from the university), they're safe till next year, IMO.

Some people are so far away from reality is scary. No university has football as their top priority although some put a stronger emphasis on it. Unfortunately, we aren't one of them. Blake is rolling the dice by retaining Al as if/when Al underperforms next year the new president, if committed to winning could fire Blake right with Al. Donna is their security blanket as we know so it a unique situation. Blake has Al trying to bolt for PSU on his resume and brought back for a disastrous follow up season and next year (disaster in the making).

If this doesn't happen we are doomed. I think the right person would get it done. The football program is very important to this school as far as revenue and name recognition. Donna never got this.

you are completely wrong as the school made millions in profit last year with minimal contribution from football. the brand is strong enough to sell itself and now that it is where it is academically the money will come from numerous different avenues that don't include football.

I would say that a few in the SEC have it at the top of their list.

no disagreement and like I said, "some put a stronger emphasis on it". these schools you are referring to, care more and therefore win more.

No need to be a douche and quote yourself. There are schools in the SEC who put it at the top of their list because they understand the money it generates. Not "some put a stronger emphasis on it", but at the top of the list. SEC schools just get it.

Please name these SEC presidents who put football as their top priority. Do you really think even the prez at Bama puts football ahead of academics and the business of running a multi-billion dollar state educational institution? If that's what you think, what evidence do you have?

Keeping Golden is a horrible business decision. It screams of a short term penny pinch by the cheap skates down in the Gables. They don't want to pay his buyout, bottom line.

Gonna be an empty stadium all next season with 0 good home games, and 0 faith in our coaching staff and athletic department.

that and will use his "loyalty" as the positive spin to the nightmare
