I saw the new rivals rankings. Don't get me started.....

rivals is in the appeasement business....satisfying their larger fan bases who pay for membership is their $$ model.

247 has a little bit more dignity when it comes to proper evaluation and rankings. For in state florida rankings, charles fishbein/larry blustein are the guys to pay attention to.

I honestly didnt know people even looked at Rivals anymore because of how much of a joke they are. Scout is just as bad. Things are not like they use to be when it comes to those two sites. Like someone said, 247 and ESPN have taken control of HS recruiting now.

The problem is that this isn't an exact science and many of these "scouts" aren't as addicted to recruiting as some of us are. You would think that these clowns would have there best scouts patrolling Florida (mainly So Fla) knowing that this is the mecca of HS football talent and the NFL draft proves it year after year.

And lets be honest, there is just way too much talent down here to keep track of it unless you have guys down here 24/7 or you use guys like Larry Blustein as silent "sources". How else do you explain Ahmmon Richards still hiding under the surface and not getting any national attention? ESPECIALLY after what he did his junior year AND at his spring game.. Zach McCloud too.

Most of these dopes wait until the Opening to really make their rankings. So I expect a lot of our guys to make a rankings move around then.

Exactly who gives a **** as long as they stay canes. Even if AG dirties the bed this year and gets dumped we all know ANY replacement will do better. **** put Ice in there.

Bruce is a 4 star because of his height. If he was 4 inches taller he would be a 5 star no doubt. 247sports only has 1 5 star receiver and they have Bruce 5th best in the country. I honestly think that is fair.

The mod from fsu 247 site even said himself McCloud is the best OLB in the state of Florida this year.

So what have we learned today? Actually not today, period I'm pretty sure that Rashad Greene was the stud on STA and ranked higher than PD yet PD is a first round draft pick. Don't be star whores. Guys like Steph Curry and Johnny Manziel prove these analysts have no idea what they're talking about. The ONLY analyst I listen to is our boy Blu. Period.

Are you serious right now? Rashad green had nearly 4000 receiving yards in college. They absolutely got that right. Dorsett has a great 40 time, and as has been seen over, and over, and over again that means a lot to NFL GMs. They accurately predicted who the more productive and impactful college football player was going to be. And way to go dropping manziel as proof of anything, dude has more reps in the rehab mess hall line than he does meaningful snaps. He might be the record holder for quickest abandoned first round pick of all time.

Ok. 4000 yards compared to averaging 20+ yards a catch in his senior season while behind an Allen Hurns who broke out, Leonard hankerson who broke out the year before that unsteady QB play. When did rashad ever deal with that at FSU? His QBs were all first rounders!

But you just used the metric of draft position of an indicator of.... whatever you are trying to prove. Therefore, since hurns was an undrafted free agent that shouldn't have impacted Dorsetts production, and since Hankerson was a lowly 3rd round pick he shouldn't be taken into consideration either. Anything else you would like to add? I suppose I should just stop, because arguing with a moron makes me also a moron.

Rankings get more right than they get wrong. The math and data prove this. Outliers like a Manziel or Clive Walford exist, but teams that sign consecutive top 5 classes compete for championships, and 5 star recruits are essentially locks for the NFL baring injury or legal problems.

Greene broke all of FSU WR records, so probably not a great example for an already weak argument.

The bias in recruiting isn't about appeasing big subscribers. Michigan and Texas have huge paysites, but don't sign top 5 classes. Winning gives teams a bump for their recruits because the logic is "well if Saban/Fisher/Meyer thinks this kid is good, then he must be a 4 star."

Miami has been subject to over ratings for years now. We have not had an all american since 07. no national award winner since 03. no 10 win season since 03. Despite atrocious on field performance the hated and super biased rivals has consistently had miami in the top 25 (10/12 years) with 7/12 in the top 15 over the same duration. One of our misses was 26th for last years small class, one was Al Folden's 2 month class.
