I need help/honest opinion on this one.

If we get Mensah back for a second year, wouldn't that sort of imply we've/he underachieved?
It may have. But Fletcher came back after balling out in the playoffs. I wanted Bain, mauignoa, and bell back and they didn’t underachieve at all. It’s the selfishness and greed im happy to admit to. I highly doubt he returns though.

Its always the last QB in who gets mentioned in these scenarios. If ULM was posting this in 2025, It would have been Luke Nickel's name in the post.

You cant afford to miss a year banking on undeveloped or unproven talent. I don’t think many coaches that can avoid it will take that risk.
That’s true in some cases… depending on where the strengths lie on your team.

Bama, Ohio St, Oregon and UGA did it recently and QB play wasn’t their main issue for ultimate lack of success.

Fletcher is a unique cat playing a position that is not highly valued like it once was in the league. However, your point is noted as it's valid. Maybe a better way of writing what I was thinking would have been to say "I hope he is not back after this upcoming season because he won the Heisman and we won #6." If those two things happen, no way he's coming back.

I always want the early leavers to come back. I'm just selfish like that.

No.

Depends on where he projects to be drafted. Or what if he injures his elbow in his last game?
