Also, all the talk is about Bain and Mesidor. I think the loss of Scott and Thomas is a little underrated. Those guys could play and were erasers.

Scott was talked about, Thomas for sure was neglected and underappreciated. It was soo wild when he got drafted his congratulations was how did he get drafted before Scott.. **** crazy lol.. I still remember leaving the FSU game last year ****ed overall but thinking he had a legendary game and coming on here and barely any mention.. He never got much love..

Back to the thread, my biggest concern is oline, we are soo efficient that their cracks are being hidden and we go on road to say Clemson and we really see whats goin on.. I will be concerned with oline until we are challenged fr.

It seems the weak point in Hetherman’s defense is the quick passing game. That will be interesting to see how we adapt as other teams try to copy the Louisville/ole miss game plan.

That said, we are pretty stout against traditional run plays and that will help keep us in favorable situations. I think the longer it takes plays to develop, the better we will be.

Just that short game stuff we need to work on.

We are balanced, talented & hungry. Lost a lot to draft at key spots. Will be tough to overcome that.

My take is, outside of our starting 2 CB's hurt, I think some positions are still up for grabs... this dude #17 stood out to me last night and I never would of picked him to be the one standing out.... I root for chase smith for being a cane through all the injuries, but I just don't think he's the answer....

So once this D gel's with the right personnel we'll start to see some major stuff.... I aint worried...

Defense is playing fine. I think the lack of Havoc plays ie. sacks, forced fumbles, tackles for loss, interceptions, pick 6 is what is probably subconsciously bothering the fanbase.

0, 3, 4, 8 were four the five best defensive players last year, zero chance you'd have the same production as them. Four guys that made NFL rosters and will likely see the field.

I would not call this a weak point in the defense.
Every defense has to concede something. That is just the nature of sports.

A team that plays all man to man on the outside runs the risk of giving up the big play. Teams that run zone on the backend tend to give up short plays and the risk is if a team can string together 7-8 short plays. So every DC has made a decision based on philosophy and personnel as to what they will concede.

Against who though? Even without those 3, our Corner room is still better than every team we play in the months of September and October

Bethune completed 14/18 passes last year, but these goofs are claiming that FAMU had too many guys open.

I don't think it's time to worry yet. I do think the injuries to the corners have played a part in the lack of turnovers the first two games. And yes, like someone else posted on here....I dont think the first two opponents tried to push the ball downfield enough.

I'll also be happy that this team hasn't given up a touchdown on defense thus far.
