I like to give a shout-out to Malik Rosier

Rosier had a very Jarren Williams-esque performance @ Pittsburgh in 2017. The more I think about it, the more I realize that was the game that really started the downward spiral this team has been on ever since.

He wasnt very good before that game to be honest. Leading the country in turn overs helped us tremendously that year.

Speaking of low QB IQ, y'all do realize that on the last play of the 1st half yesterday, instead of Jarren throwing the hail marry pass, which everyone knows has about 2% success rate, he chose to run it, which with Michael Vick at his best would at best have half that chance.

I'm not defending Enos (because he's indefensible), but he was yelling at Jarren right after the play that he HAS to throw the ball. To his credit, knowing that he's out of a job in about 30 minutes, he's still coaching. I respect that. In that situation, he's 100% right. Jarren HAS to throw the ball, and he didn't even get that simple concept right.

That QB room must be abysmal. Here's hoping the football intellect doubles or triples when TVD gets there.
At that point it really hit me just what kind of ineptitude he really had to work with. I knew we had a bad QB room, but I didn't know they were functionally retarded.

Jarren is a moron but dont give Enos a pass here. He clearly just went through the motions the last month and put ZERO effort into the gameplan for LA TECH. There wasn't 1 new wrinkle, play, or any intelligent gameplan. He just lined Jarren up and called the same ****** plays that didnt work against FIU, Duke. Dude is a stubborn, arrogant prick.

That said, good thread i have more respect for Rosier now. He would not have lost against FIU or La Tech

Kaaya was far, far, far better than Malik.

Maybe but 10-0 and #2 in polls and acc title game before collapse says not, and results matter. Rosier had the most sussessful season since Berlin. Let’s face it, none of our QBs have had anythiing but crap for coaches. Rosier over achieved, the other did not.

Same thing with that crazy Richt-based thread where because Richt wasn't total trash like Diaz (though we were heading that direction) he somehow did a great job here.

Lol. That’s the Canes consensus now. People forget that the 2016-2017 “success” would never be accomplished again under Richt because he was making Banda and Patke co-DCs. People also forget about how bad last year’s recruiting was.

People also suddenly forget about how bad Rosier was.

When it comes to QBs, I feel like we should primarily be looking for smart guys with high football IQs. Ask them questions that challenge their knowledge of the game, offer the guys with the best understanding of the questions as long as their performance on the field is passable.

I want guys who study and are punctual with a strong work ethic. If they're the kinda guys that are gonna put in the time, then they'll actually get better instead of the QBs have now that aren't getting better.

Look..Rosier was limited talent wise..which makes him more respectable then the mofos who have more talent and don’t come close to maxing out cause they don’t put the work in

You mean the 02 fiesta bowl.

Oh Rosier was bad, but to see what was on the bench behind him. Just wow. I have never seen a QB room so inexplicably bad. The lowest football IQ I have ever seen, outside of Tallahassee.
Mark and Jon Richt, the greatest evaluators of QB talent you’ve ever seen

Actually Wright’s 2005 team and Berlin’s 2003 and 2004 team were all better teams than Rosier’s 2017 team.

The only thing that’s changed is Miami’s standards. Basically a 3 loss season now (and a joke of a 3 loss season where we deserved about 8-5) is seen as much more successful than a 3 loss season or even a 2 loss season used to be.
