I know we think it’s just south Florida...

We need to stop taking placeholder commits two years out. ***** ridiculous and serves no benefit. Big reason we get this bad look as decommit U. We had what 10 committed for '21? The next closet school has 3.

Whats your great suggestion then? Turn them away, tell them they can’t commit, then they go commit somewhere that will take them? Force them
To shut their recruitment down?

It’s not just s S FL thing it’s an entire state of Florida thing. You could see 8 of the top 10 players in FL for the class of 20 go out of state. College football looks like it’s going the way of college basketball where a couple of schools get all the best players.

Decommit before, during and with the transfer portal, after you are on campus. That's the game today. Social media makes it so much worse than it really is. I agree commits for 2021 are just placeholders. Manny and Co. will figure it out.

We are always the front runners in the first 200 meters. Then run out of gas before the final turn of the full 440. Maybe we need a new anchor. Anyway, there's plenty of time to find some other guys who want to be canes. There's plenty of time for Manny to decide if he wants to play with the big boys.

Tell them to take other visits first. They are getting a lot of these dudes young and some have never seen other schools outside of florida.

I dont understand if yall think these coaches can brainwash these kids or what, but it doesnt matter where these kids visit. If they want to go to UM, they will go to UM. If they don’t, whether thats because of money or distance from home or whatever, no amount of persuasion will convince them otherwise. Kids will commit and decommit and recommit, it is what it is. If you want a kid before they take visits and you’ll want him after he takes visit why tf would you not take the commitment. Yall just can’t deal w reality and the fact that stuff dont go your way all the time, it’s so annoying

No you don't get it. You tell them to take visits first because some of these recruits see these other schools for the first time after all they have seen is the local schools and they decide they want to leave.

Of course there will still be decommits but you have to do something to limit it. And how is it trying to brainwash recruits by you telling them we want you to make sure you want to be here?

Clemson doesn't allow recruits to visit other schools after they commit and they have only had a couple decommits since about 2013.

AND. They start to fill up quick. Tell game players - you commit to your spot quick - you take no more visits - or forget it.

Again, if youd take their commitments after they take visits, why not take them before they take visits? If a kid wants to stay committed and has the support to do so, he will. It’s as simple as that.

“Limiting decommitments” is equivalent to a dog chasing its tail. It’s a normal occurrence that’s perceived by some people as a problem. There’s no way to brainwash a kid into not decommitting when you’ve done the part on your end, which this staff appears to be doing. Only thing that’s left to do is win on the field, which highlights the fact that Clemson is incomparable to us at this point as theyre at an entirely diff level in terms of winning.

Clemson and UM are two completely diff institutions w diff environments and diff football programs

You still missing it. You take it because they have seen other places and decided miami was the best fit for them.

Right now we are getting guys commited who haven't been to other schools or gotten offers. So when they do take these visits its like a new world because all they have seen is florida.

Yes, if they intend to take any other visits in the next 2 years then I don't want it.
