I know it belongs on the recruiting board, Manny just got a commit from tae Williams...

Banda definitely deserves a lot of credit for building that relationship, no question...but I do remember reading that 'Tae got close to Reed at the Under Armour game, so to say there is "zero evidence that Reed played any part in this" is not exactly true.

True, guess I should have said a minimal amount of evidence. But if we’re assigning credit between the 2, I’m giving 90% to Banda.

TBH there was a large, vocal segment of fans that weren’t glad our staff stayed on him. Said we were wasting resources, getting played etc. While some of us were saying if there’s a chance then you fight to the bitter end.

Huge win for Diaz and Banda.
This. *****in' ******* were out in force.

I have never been EXCITED like this in my life, I'M about to pass out of joy. UnFRIGGIN real. We are BACK.

Banda>>>Rumph and it’s not even close. Patke and Rumoh are by far the weakest links in recruiting on this team(don’t know much about Lashlee and Justice yet and whoever the WR coach will be).

People might not like it but it’s true. Dude is a utility man that helps everywhere. Not just safety or Db. Everywhere.

Rumph isn’t as bad as most think , he’s a good dude , he just doesn’t like recruiting and it shows. Kinda awkward.

Patke is as useless as **** on a boar.

Lashlee is a good recruiter and I bet everything justice will be too. Mix that with Telly , hypolite , cooney and Reed we’re cooking with hot grease.

Certainly the biggest recruiting win over a rival that was lean elsewhere on signing day since coley because I thought he was a heavy fsu lean prior to picking Miami.

the optics we overcame in getting Williams is nothing short of amazing.

His 5 star cousin just transferred from the program last month to to uf

Miami had a losing season,

Uf just won 12 games,

one of his7 on 7 coaches keiwan ratfliff is at uf now,

one of his better friends and former teammate dionte marks signed with uf.

big time get period

everyone said uf. big get.
Lol Does Avantae hate his cousin ? , when Lo was here he decommited and picked Oregon, then everybody thought since his cousin was at Florida it was a sure thing then he pick us , I’m glad he wants to be his own man lol

Great job.

Now he needs to be developed into an elite Safety. Don’t fugg this up with all the position switches. Move someone else from Safety who may happen to be stiffer than a board. Keep this playmaker at Safety.

How the **** do you ppl turn this into anti rumph lmao

The DB room has been outstanding since rumph took over

We got to get the numbers. No more of these one cornerback classes.

I think Rumph is a good coach but the depth issues his lackluster recruiting puts us in gives his critics all the ammo they need.

I know some of you clearly don’t want to give Banda credit and I’m on record as saying bringing in ER is huge but stop it. This is all Banda. There is zero evidence Reed played any part in this. If you’re gonna be a hater when the time calls for it then give credit when it’s due and Banda deserves the vast majority of it.

Per Avantae Williams own words when asked most recently about Ed Reed:

“It's cool, but that's not why I made my decision," Williams said when asked about Ed Reed now having an office in Coral Gables. "It's the guys that have been there. I'm going to Miami because of my relationship with those guys."

Agree with you. This was undeniably and overwhelmingly due to Banda.

Smart kid.... he knows not to disrespect the coaching staff... but you can't have a better COS than ER when you are the top safety in America.

Agree.

Digressing a little bit I’m curious to see what Ed Reed actually does here as the COS. For whatever reason the first time I read about him becoming our COS (and not knowing what that entails) it reminded me of a Seinfeld episode where George Castanza got a job at some company doing basically nothing. LOL,

I know that of course won’t be the case with Ed Reed though and he will surely be a valuable asset to our program.
