I keep hearing how Miami can't complete with the top NCAA programs.

Miami is still in the repeat violator window, which will not endnote until 2021. Commit a violation before then, and the NCAA can and likely will give the Hurricanes everything that they wanted to give them in 2012. Miami is the type of program that the NCAA would love to make an example of, so as to provide credibility to a rules wnforcement mechanism that otherwise is not really credible.

The University does not financially support the athletic department like it used to. They try to sell Miami as an academic school to students first, football second. Other schools like Alabama,Texas, Clemson sell football first and they pump money into the program. That's fact

Wrong.

All major football programs are NOT “supported” by the university.

They are supported by contributions from fans and boosters and by the revenue they generate.

Get a clue before you make false statements.

Do some research and compare top P5 revenues and you will see where we rank. Not even top 20-25.

bruh they openly cheat its even being reports in Barry's article. Its the truth

We know that but at least they know how to play the game.

We out here openingly discussing whether we should cheat or not like amateurs. The times we got caught the ones doing couldn't help but put themselves in the spotlight, one being a fraud.

The point of cheating is NOT to get caught.

Are the influence of illegal payments a little overblown? Sure. Are they a very real thing? Of course. Don't be naive. BAGS are less important than Miami winning though. Miami doesn't have an issue recruiting quality student-athletes when they are winning football games. Unfortunately, Miami has been a ~8 win team over the course of the past decade+. And we've gotten 8-win quality players as a result most years.

On top of winning, Miami needs to understand the importance and investment of a real recruiting department and infrastructure. The price of that brick has gone up. Miami needs to understand that the landscape of CFB has changed and its not all about BAGS. Its about the investment in finding, evaluating, and recruiting athletes for your program. Miami is in the most fertile bed of talent in CFB. We should NOT be seeing Miami acting like the smartest guy in the room, not offering a player that Oklahoma, Georgia, and Florida are. We aren't that good to not be offering and heavily recruiting that kid and that has nothing to do with BAGS. Its about the infrastructure, support staff, and investment in finding, evaluating, and recruiting student-athletes. That is why we can't compete. We choose not to, ignorantly.

If just armed by **** OP has said before we’re gonna finish top 12 in recruiting, Richt was gonna win 10 games next year and our offense was just a QB away from being elite oh and we were gonna beat up wisconsin and finished ranked

I like how people are tossing the word cheat around with the NCAA having a cup of coffee with our basketball program.

Why does Miami get caught? Because no one has the ability to STFU Community, Fans, or Media.

We have our own alumni backstabber ....Lebastard.. still running a popular Radio show..

.. in Alabaga he would have been jogging at the bottom of a lake in concrete running shoes

Here’s a question. Patrick Peterson was supposedly paid at least $60K to go to LSU. Other posters here quote $200K for players in this cycle. Has any recruit been rumored to have received six figures?

Also, are any of the schools now using cryptocurrency for their enhanced recruiting?

Nobody is saying payments aren't happening Lunchbox.

Geee, how very woke of you Linus.

Now let's move on to why doesn't Alabama or Clem$on ever get caught?....while your not wrong about Miami, that is the real problem with "amateur" athletics these days. Burn the ******* NCAA to the ground, and let's just have the wild wild west...we will still lose on the financial side of players purchased, but at least there won't be complicit scumbags like Mark Emmert playing god and deciding who the winners and losers in compliance are going to be....

If you don’t mind me asking who did you play for?

Fournette got $250k. Almost their entire recruit budget. Les had to ask the boosters to up the stash so he could finish the class off.

I mind you asking.

It was high school, of course. That’s as far as I’m saying.
Serious question...we have 2 bit players like this on the periphery of this type of behavior just dying to spill their guts for a tiny bit of dap on a message board (no offense of course)...there is no way ex-players, friends of ex-players, girlfriends of ex-players wouldn't be showing up everywhere for a little payola to tell their story.
