I just wanna point out something

Actually 7 rings! And could have been 8 rings, if Vinnie hadn't thrown the interception against Penn State!! Alonzo Highsmith should have run the ball in. He was on fire in that drive.

Preach. Never in the history of CFB has a team lost one game in a season, beat the #1 and #2 ranked teams that season and was left out of the championship game for the team they beat.

I can't recall a referee ever deeming a pass incomplete, and when they didn't have a great angle, decide to call PI AFTER initially calling incomplete.

We've been screwed more times than a little bit. Count '88 in that mix too.
 
Yet our O line couldn't open up a hole for the run game until the fourth quarter. We had single digit yardage in the first half.

From 2000-2002 we were screwed by the geniuses in the NCAA in 2000 (FSU (who we had defeated during the regular season) went to the Championship Game against OU, and in 2002 we lost on an absolutely horrendous interference call by the ref. The third time was in 1988, when Vinnie threw the INT against PSU. The U could very easily have 8 National Championship Rings, instead of 5!!

Yep, you're right....that UCLA game in 1998 was one of the most entertaining and important games in Canes history....A real turning point game

UCLA came in ranked super high...#3 if memory serves...the game had been rescheduled bc of a hurricane....

Edge ran for 794 yards....and we beat the Bruins 49-45...was a hugely fun game to watch.....

Was also the real first signs of life after the probationary period and a precursor of what was to come with Miami's historically dominant teams of the early 2000s....

Good memory....

Was a great victory over the Gayturd and Spurlocker but we should’ve been playing OU for the BCS title. We beat FSU that year no reason they should’ve played in that **** game. Could’ve been 3 in a row from 2000-2002. Oh well we got a car sized chip on our shoulders again like back then so I’ll be interested to see what we can do about it.

True bro, but just a bit of a fact check...86 was Vinny ******** us (and I don't care what anyone says....that dude had all day to throw the ball and threw it directly to each of those defenders). In 88, we got screwed in South Bend when Cleveland Gary's TD was called a fumble when the reach, broke the plank, and the ball, WHILE IN HIS HAND, hit the ground and popped free. That year ND played and won the national championship, while we were stuck embarrassing Nebraska for nothing.

Yep I rooted for them in that game too for that same reason. We would have gotten the AP national championship and fspoo would have gotten the coaches. Either way we should Have been the orange bowl playing for it all but atleast we would have had a share of title had FSU actually had an offense in that game. Smh

**** we should have had 7 rings... You forgetting about that BS a$$ call in the 2003 Fiesta bowl... Ohio St game.
 
We had GREAT teams but got beat in 86, 88, 92, 00, 02. Penn State, Notre Dame, Alabama, Washington, Ohio State. Hard not to feel like we left rings on the table but winning a title is really hard to do. We lost those games. No shame in it.

And JJ should of had three also, since he was actually in 3 NC games.. That would have put us at 9. Throw in the the fixed ND game and it is 10. We might hate Saban, but can you imagine what he would have done with out teams back then?
 
The bcs didn’t trust us because of the Loss to UW earlier in the season. On the other hand Fsu had been the best program in the country for the past few yrs so bcs gave them the benefit of the doubt. Pretty easy to understand but I don’t like it.
