I hope Manny Diaz one day...

...is the Head Coach of THE U!!! Imagine this savage in Full control with our S Fla talent and his attention to detail and schemes! He has to have his shot at some point here cuz he is as Cane as it gets through and through it will translate all 3 phases. Head Coach in Waiting?

I'm pretty sure if we where in the market for a new head coach it would be Cristobal job to turn down. And I'm pretty sure he's not gonna do that.

Yeah, Manny needs to do it for one more season (and the rest of this one), but I give him all the credit in the world for how he's turned it around. How much of it is due to Gerald Willis and Jaquan (game changers), who knows, but he was the coach I had the most issues with last season. Not so much anymore.

I do trust Manny enough to go out and hire a young coordinator who will run a modern, high octane offense.

I still think manny is a liability. So please don't put me in the camp that thinks he's the one.
Still has a lot too prove. He's doing great atm with a defense full of guys that have been starting in the system for 2.5 years.

Just needs more time and a stop at another school as the HC to prove that he can take on a job of this level.

Manny needs to close some more elite croots to be considered a HC candidate for me. He is an elite defensive mind, but coaching in CF means crootin. Close Ingraham, Stevenson, Bogle, Weaver, etc then we can talk. He & his staff are just now starting to develop a reputation. Lets see if that closes out some kids for us.

Also, Id like to see Rumph work w/ Safeties and Banda work with LBs & Safeties. Then maybe Rumph can become a true 2ndary coach, and Banda can cut his teeth some more, expand his work.

Nope. Many is good but not great. He needs a natty under his resume to be considered HC material.

Look, we know that Richt has not shown that he's willing to make the changes necessary to make us a championship team. I would LOVE to be wrong about that, but so far, that's what the evidence points to. Um...sure...if Diaz promised to bring in a real OC and allow him to do his thing, then why not? Offer him half the Richt money (to help with the buyout) and then give him a performance based incentive package.

Still love for Richt to have his own football related come-to-Jesus-moment, but in its absence and knowing we won't be bringing in Butch or another seasoned, quality coach, sure. Why not...?

Promoting from within generally works well......................when programs are successful.
Difficult to change a culture when you're looking at the same coach[es]

With every passing day I'm buying in just a tiny bit more on Manny as a potential HC.

Mainly because I don't trust this admin to hire anyone at the price range of Richt if Richt fails. I don't want another "saver" of some small no body program. (Just look what happening in Nebraska).

Our last couple of candidates in 2015 was Mullen, Cristobal, and Schiano with Schiano as the likely guy (I think) until Richt popped out of nowhere.
