I hate Ufag, but I think they got a coach.

Since UM is a "dumpster fire" a last second win over them by a top 10 team should be akin to barely beating central Michigan. I mean, this incredible coach who's team is so great should have easily crushed a Miami team who's absolute garbage, right?

This dude knows how to keep everyone engaged. I hate Ufag, but I like Mullens. Beat me up if you want, but he can keep a fan base engaged for a 30 min. interview, We get 5-8 mins. from Manny and we are bored after 3 minutes of coach speak.
I like the media questions from Gainesville media and Mullens knows his chit and opens up. Manny just speaks in tongues.
Come on Manny, we want the hard truth, good or bad, let us have an honest assessment of the team and let everyone know where we stand. No more blowing sunshine.

Interesting. i dont remember us being bored with his interviews over the summer.

Honestly, I think when I first came over to this board, I saw posters clamoring for him. I think I vouched for the hire when someone brought it up. The key is, UFag hired a guy w/ coaching experience, in conference, on his resume. He's also from Meyer's tree. We hired a guy who's bounced around and came from a failed regime w/ no coaching experience. We're seeing the results of it.

we went with a guy who had great long term success in the SEC and it failed. manny will take time. this isnt mullens first rodeo as a coach so youd expect these results out of him (same as how we expected 10 plus wins yearly with richt)

Mullen is 9-3, 8-4 coach who may get 10-2 a year here or there based on a lucky bounce. He isn't a championship level coach, IMO.

Manny Diaz may never be a championship coach himself, but I'd rather bet on him as an unknown who can get there than the guy I know won't unless your ceiling for this program is the ACC Coastal.

I honestly think he is middle of the road caliber. He's good not great. They will never win a championship with him there. Florida gets a lot of talent just because they are Florida. Almost any coach can go there and be decent. ****, look at what Mcilwaine did.

wed be firing him after 3 years. theres a reason they fired mac. theyre going to fire mullen when he doesnt get to ATL the next 2-3 years and he continually stays behind UGA bc his recruiting isnt close to smarts

hes losing this entire month. that shine will wear off in gville when theyre sitting at 5-4
I was talking about Diaz winning the next 8 in responce to another poster. The poster wasnt being serious he was just making a point. Theres no way we win the next 8. Also of course uf is going to lose they play in the SEC and that gauntlet will spit them out real soon.

Yea theres no way he will beat UGA with the way they are recruiting they arent going to beat them for a very long time. They should wait for saban to groom someone a mainstay on there staff that is known for recruiting and grab him. Thats what everyone is doing and UGA found the next guy they were smart about it while every other program was asleep at the wheel

smart also turned down other offers prior to taking the UGA job from what i remember.

I actually quite like Mullen as an OC and a head coach but the guy has major weaknesses.

The biggest weakness that sticks out is his recruiting. The guy recruited a bunch of kids who didn’t qualify and can’t keep control of his guys. I don’t believe for a second Mullen is a disciplinarian or a guy who gets his team to keep their nose clean. His QB this year had not developed and acted like a child.

Mullen had these problems in Gainesville and Starkville. At Miami he would probably have guys going full Aaron Hernandez and Kellen Winslow II on a monthly basis.

In a perfect world a Dan Mullen offense with a Manny Diaz defense would win a lot of games - I wouldn’t care who the head coach was.

Get back to us around 7pm on 11/2

Can we please stop using Richt? We hired a guy who admitted while at UGA that he was burnt out and wanted to retire. For name sake, yes, it looked good on paper. He came to Miami b/c it was his biggest pay day, AND we sweetened the pot to allow his son to coach w him, something UGA never allowed. At the end of the day he stepped down from UGA b/c he was burnt. So we paid $4m for some Perrelli Tires w barely any tread left on it, that came w a spare tire from Geostar.

That’s y Richt failed here. Like my man @k9cane have said many times, this was his retirement plan; get paid while coaching w his boy.

Before the season Mullen was a labeled a lucky corch by CIS, now after a bad start he is the man to CIS and should’ve been our coach. We are a sad lot around here.

What’s happened to this board? This place has absolutely eroded in 5 weeks.

Mullins is a solid coach. He should have been given a crack at the U. But let’s be very clear. Until proven other wise. He’s not an elite coach. He’s not an elite recruiter. And he’s a solid X’s and O’s Guy.

Ppl say “Bro, look what he did at Miss State”
Ok Bro let’s look

Kentucky, 7-0
Vanderbilt, 2-0
Tennessee, 1-0
Missouri, 1-0
Ole Miss, 4-3
Arkansas, 4-3
Georgia, 1-1
Florida, 1-1
Auburn, 3-4
Texas A&M, 1-3
LSU, 1-6
South Carolina, 0-2
Alabama, 0-7

So the argument that he did more with less is a lie. For all of his reputation he went 1-13 vs the two best teams in his division (LSU/Bama) Was sub .500 vs the 3rd and 4th best (AU/TAMU) So basically with Dan Mullin he did what he was suppose to do with the talent he had. Which was beat the lessor teams.

Personally regardless of the result on the field. I always enjoy listing to the head coach of the Canes. Idk call me crazy but I’m a canes fan. I like the immersion and the little bit of behind the scenes info they share. At no point in time would listening to the coach of UiF be engaging to me especially not for 30 minutes.
